  1. Shame it's 3x the price of the Sirius! Imagine seeing the rail of that going towards the chipper!
  2. You find a safe spot to pull over. Select neutral, apply handbrake, and go to town on them flesh balloons. Taken from the Highway Code.
  3. Actually rules and regs advise against using carabiners for rigging terminations altogether. In the same way the DVLA advise against scratching your balls while driving.
  4. That's ridiculous. How is the end of the rigging line attached then?
  5. I have type C trousers for cold days, type a for most of the year, and special ultra light trousers for really hot days...
  6. You simply can't rely on PPE to stop a running saw. Best bet is to wear what's comfy, and work so you never have to worry what chain speed your PPE is rated to.
  7. Hmm. The Stihl weighs 4.3kg and has a power output of 1.7kW The Husky weighs 4.4kg and has 1.5kW
  8. I use the 135, and the Stihl 181 at work. I still own a MS211 (first saw I bought). I much prefer the Stihls. The starting is much better, the Husky is temperamental at best. Better cutting gear as standard on the Stihls too. £60 over a few years is nowt really. I'd go for the 211. On a sharp chain the 14" bar copes well. On 12" it's like a 200t
  9. How do you discipline your lads then?
  10. There are the times when you turn up to a decent sized kill in a small garden and the customer goes "oh, so you're actually going up it!?" Sod it, gob it and let it go then!
  11. You could do that on your tod in easy day. £350
  12. To be fair it's a shame they haven't taken comments on board, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix one up.
  13. How old is she now Bob? Looking at getting a sh Hilux. King cabs are rare as rocking horse poo though. How many miles have you eked out of her?
  14. You calling me a liar, batty?
  15. The bar might be wider than the original. 84dl is correct for the Stihl bar. It shouldn't be a big deal for your local shop to pop an extra link in for you.
  16. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/22472-rope-guides-masses.html
  17. It's possible to make a LOLER passable puller saver without using knots. All you'd need is a few metres of 8mm hitch cord, some whipping twine, and some heat shrink. Helluva lot less bulky than that thing!
  18. So you're not completely fed up with srt then?
  19. Mines never got in the way. The elastic would snap before any trouble though. I don't like wearing bras while climbing.
  20. That's a really unfortunate typo...
  21. You tell me mate, £500 plus for the 550you run on 13", or £200 on a saw that will cope with that. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 550, but it wasn't getting any use over my 357. For a small lightweight saw "similar power to a topper" the 211 is value for money.
  22. Stihl 211 on a 12" (it'll handle a 14"). Tiny light saw, keep the fc chain sharp and its a lovely small saw. About £200 as well.
