Looks great. A refreshing approach to stale industry. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Should actually be collecting this next week. Not sure what I will be able to get back and what will be useful for you now but will have a look. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Feather edge is fine if you fit it correctly. I mill and clad a lot of buildings in Feather and don't have a problem. I would go 3x2 then breathable membrane then baton down stud then Feather edge in cedar larch or Douglas Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Most of the committee members of the local groups are volunteers. I know two of the guys on our local group. One is a town planner and one works for the nfu. This is why it can sometimes take an age to get a decision as they don't meet that often. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Another thread like this one. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=102189 Wind indeed Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Try the leader fund. You have to be able to prove it will create jobs, help your business to grow and benefit the rural community. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/rural-development-programme-for-england-leader-funding Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app

  8. I will take a pic when I get the chance. I assume u can machine it? Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. It's pointless coming back at you with anything else. You obviously already decided that you know the ins and outs or every other trade but tell me I just wouldn't understand because I'm not worthy because I don't climb for a living. Could say the same thing my self but choose to accept that all work has its challenges. And lots of work is equally as hard as other work. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. I bow down to your superior abilities. Maybe one day I could scale to the heights of someone so hard working and far more important than lowly other trades. I consider my self told and far more humble when it comes to my own abilities. Sent from my SM-G920F using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Intresesting thread. It was said earlier that a lot of people think they work harder than others and some on this thread are definitely guilty of that. Brickwork can be exhausting it can also be relatively easy. In general I think people should have respect for other people's trades. The fittest climber would struggle against an experienced builder on site and vice versa. We get used to what we do and develop the muscles we need. I did an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, although I don't do much of it now, I spent the last few weeks building a retaining wall from dense concrete blocks, on quite a steep hill. I resent reading that this is easy or that all bricklayers are stupid. I do general building, oak framing, some arb work and quite a lot of milling in season and each job has its challenges. And to the op he's your father in law it's his job to rib you. Suck it up with respect. I'm sure he had to work a little harder when he had a young family to raise. Do you intend to work as hard your whole life. I'm 37 and in a position where 4 days a week is enough for me. I have no desire to go back to 6 or 7 long days a week. 15. Any joinery shop should do it for you. Still reckon you woukd be better of with a dw733 though. Fits nicely under the bench when not in use. Sent from my GT-I8200N using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. That's exactly how I'd do it except my 8 year old is 7 Sent from my GT-I8200N using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Excellent. So now we need an estimate from Al of approximate length of millable log and a photo. Is this possible Al? Sent from my GT-I8200N using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Ok. Don't really want to see this redwood get to ringed up and am considering milling it. Steve 7th devil is up for helping. Trouble is i wont be able to bring it all home. So is there anyone in Reigate who potentially would want some milled redwood on the cheap. You would have to help mill it. Hep carry it out the garden and chuck say £150 or 200 in to the pot to cover costs. Then you could potentially fill your trailer/truck with sequoia milled to your requirements. Assuming your requirements are sensible. Any one in the reigate area interested? Sent from my GT-I8200N using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. It's around 2.5m long. Like a big wheel Barrow Sent from my GT-I8200N using Arbtalk mobile app
