  3. Costco at times have great deals on heavy duty racking.
  4. Never seen one longer than that. How long did you need it? I have seen long extensions for them but they can be problematic.
  5. That's pretty much what we do. We get our bits from reddiseals. https://www.reddiseals.com/product-category/sash-window/beading/#staffbead
  6. Do you have any methods for updating , draft proofing etc?

  8. Lovely pen. What is work for you Ian?
  9. It's a lucas mill attatchment. I charge by the day plus travel. Pm sent with details.
  10. You really are a t..t. Ignore button pressed.
  11. Not sure if anyone has ever died or not. If there not sure of the toxins in the wood then can we be sure. I was thinking the same with food safe finishes. For eg. If a board is covered in polyurethane then your food is in contact with that, not the wood. The problems may arise if the finish deteriorates or chips. Don't know really. You can buy plastic bottles , goblets , plates etc and I'm not convinced that you would never get any leaching out of these. But I do hate plastic.
  12. I do also have a planer capable of planing 6 ft wide if you need some assistance in flattening your slab.
  13. I know someone with an older makita and i didn't think it was as good as my dewalt, do I would definitely look at both before buying.
  14. I have plenty of oak ash Elm and walnut near milton keynes. But to be honest clive ( delabodge on here) is near Reading and might be a better bet for the pair of you if he has what you need. Big J in Scotland also ships alot of nice timber by the pallet.
  15. You do talk a lot of negative nonsense on this forum. A lot of your posts are negative and I've no time for comments like yours. I'm not going to get in a slagging match with a troll so as such this is my last post on the subject. Firstly the op in this thread was not I'll informed. He has already been told the possible issues with using these woods. Secondly the threads were not on the same subject matter. The first thread was about the possible problems with using these woods. This thread was a request for help to turn "his" wood into boards. Your not someone I wish to socialise with in any way so if I am pushed any further I will be hitting the ignore button and never have to think of you again You agree with Steve when he says he would happily do it if the person was informed. Well wake up. Re read the thread. They were informed. But you think it's fun to provoke me for a reaction. You won't get anymore! Lastly I couldn't give two hoots what Maggie might think of me or you for that matter.
  16. I've heard similar of beech.
  17. We have a small track leading into our woodland, with a locked gate. 10 or so days ago a newish defender and trailer carrying a rather large hire company generator appeared there. On inspection it was obviously stolen with cables ripped out of the generator and several tow hitches and tools in the back of the defender. The police were called and the situation explained. They said none of those things are reported stolen so you will have to report it to the council as an abandoned vehicle. So we were amazed and just locked the gate with a heavy chain and waited for it to dissappear. Anyway about 5 days later the police knocked on the door asking for the key to the gate as they had now decided they might be stolen. Think it was because we contacted the hire company and told them where there generator was. Fake plates on landy and trailer too. Later that day it was all over local cops twitter sating how there investigations had solved 3 crimes and weren't they clever. They were lucky it was still there 5 days later. We are near milton keynes generator was from Lincoln.
  18. Well what a lovely bloke you turned out to be.... Dredging up something I said 3 years ago to try and make your self look better, or is it a don't feed the tw.... situation. I stand by what I said. 3 years ago I was running a monthly farmers market stall selling wooden things and chopping boards was one of them. I wouldn't make yew chopping boards to sell or to use myself. But if someone else wants to use them that's there shout, not mine. I guess you have a really high moral standing and never cut down a healthy tree that didn't need cutting down just to earn wages. Etc etc. Notice how I said I wouldn't use them, not that I was making it my mission to make sure nobody has freedom of choice!
  19. Agreed. Either stickers too thin or timber stacked in an unsuitable location.
  20. I like the way the 562 is 200 quid cheaper than the 550
