  1. Mail online, clever folk they are! 14 ton???? Short wheelbase with nothing but a lardy Austrian is closer to 4 I'd have thought! . And 9m high?!?!?! I knew Ahnolld was a big lad, but that must mean he's near 5m tall!
  2. I thought maple was used for strip-floor dance floors on account of being really hard wearing?
  3. Not left the field, but left-field. Faaaaaaaar left-field. Tony, I feel a strange sense of admiration and pity for you. Pity for despite the nosedives, snubs, ridicules etc you've still not figured out that people will not listen unless they are ready to do so. Admiration because you just keep going anyway:thumbup1: Personally I'm not that worried tbh, as I don't think there will be a place in this world for worldwide companies like the ones at play here for much longer.
  4. Have a look at Ten Cate Toptex, they do a special fleece for chip-piles which allows good ventilation, but sheds rainwater. Some interesting research, http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.swwf.info%2Fimages%2FToptexstudy.pdf&ei=Lcy3UJSPIMKe0QWXroGgCA&usg=AFQjCNGTq6YR2OXCba73u1SZEmEYGsGuOg&cad=rja The people that make the stuff TenCate Geosynthetics | Royal Ten Cate Divisions EMEA The UK importer Ground Stabilisation - Artificial Grass - soakaway boxes -Erosion Mats - Agricultural Products
  5. Thanks. I've left the suitcase if unmarked notes in the agreed place
  6. I think in theory the restrictions apply to all stihl products: saws, chain, bars etc but also key rings, wallets T-shirts.... Think it is (or should be) up to the dealer to apply some discretion.
  7. Get a loadhandler!
  8. So, does that mean I was: "not correct" "half right" "quite right" or "nearer 0% right"?
  9. I have two of each: an ms180 (ported) for pruning, carving and construction. A550XP for most work, hedgelaying, felling, shedding etc. A 346XPG for same as above+ backup. And a ms650 (which I'm putting a 98,5cc pot+piston on, and a little modding so it'll be an ms666) for the big stuff. . I like the all, and reckon they're all better than their counterparts of the opposite brand.
  10. I think it's quite right In theory a stihl/husky dealer should do a proper "handover" to explain the (safety) features of the saw. If the purchaser can produce saw tickets there is no need for this. This is why they can only send out saws (or theoretically any stihl products) to either people with tickets or people they've "handed over" saws to before as it proves (on paper) they know what they're doing. . Lets see if Justin will be able to find his 'puter in the mist and clarify.
  11. Only for people with no saw tickets. So the dealer makes sure the purchaser knows the machine, it's features and safety stuff. After that the dealer can treat the customer as "known to be informed" so can send them saws and other stuff through the post with no face to face.
  12. Cool, I used to live in a merc 814 ex-removals lorry. Had a Rayburn, full size bath, cinema projector with lots of loud speakers.... It was a fun time indeed! Me, the Mrs, twin daughters and two big dogs.
  13. I'll be waiting, behind some thick steel, armour piercing crossbow at the ready Made one before when I was a kid (9 or 10 years old), fired steel bolts (sharpened lengths of 10mm threaded rod) through a car door.... My evil father (it's not fair!) took it off me, dunno why?
  14. 7000 litres of rainwater stored, A fair few pounds of beef and sheep "keeping fresh" out there. Probably about 3-4 weeks worth of dried goods plus veg harvest (was poor this year but plenty of tatties, onions, beet root, pumpkin and garlic left. Firewood a plenty. A complete off-grid leccy system with a 3500Ah battery set (from being comfortably nomadic) But no mid/long range weaponry, only close quarter defence (7lbs axe+6'5", 16stone of idiot). Hmmmm, will have to make a leaf spring cross-bow....
  15. I'm going to the Netherlands on saturday and can send you one from there if you like, have done so before for another AT user with no issues. Cost about £325 inc postage and vat (but no bar and chain, Messrs Jones are cheaper...) I believe. PM me if you want one.
  16. Or, if you'd like to opt out of the death and maiming , take the tap off, fill it with water then empty it again and presto! guaranteed gas-free!
  17. For all who missed the "visitation" by the bars Not sure why my pics multiply themselves.....?
  18. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/50736-bars-under-my-name.html Not much help there, but shared ignorance...
  19. Cant do a screenshot at the mo for no apparent reason so here's a shot of the screen....
  20. Wow! In Dutch we have a proverb that says "it's better to turn round halfway then go the wrong way all the way" (sounds better and more sensible in Dutch:biggrin:)
  21. How did you end up there? Wrong side of the road and all that?.....
  22. Not sure what you mean? Pretty standard, perfect hinge?
  23. The 650 is/was (afaik) only produced to have an 85cc saw in stihls line up, so as to offer a same-size alternative to the husky 385xp. So swapping a 390 for a 650 seems folly to me?
  24. The "peek-a-boo Christmas tree cut".
