  3. Where are you? Or more relevant perhaps, where is your stick?
  4. Assuming you've coppiced, were the beeches multi-stemmed? If so, it can help to cut half the stems one year, and the remainder the next or the year after.
  5. What do you want it for? What's your budget? What does your local dealer sell/repair? Actually forget all that, Husky 550XP(G)
  6. Done! But damn your slick site mr Dyer! :angry:Added a couple of chains for my ported ms180 that I don't really need but fancy trying out and it's just so easy!
  7. The Netherlands had a prime-minister by the name of Wim Kok, he was succeeded by Ruud Lubbers. I have an Uncle named Lisa An auntie named Jetty and my Grandmother is called Albert
  8. Petrol stations sell stuff to make cars go (fuel), but not to make cars stop (pads, disks etc) because these things are sold in other shops. I can't really see how it is any different Aldi selling a saw but not the appropriate ppe? Should they sell gloves, ear-defenders and goggles wherever hammers are sold? And as far as the quality of the saw goes it won't be great and I won't buy one, but the aldi warranty will be backed up with no hassle, product changed or money returned whereas both stihl and husky like to weasel their way out of warranty issue whenever possible!
  9. That'll most likely be a lime hawk moth caterpillar. Lime Hawk-moth Mimas tiliae - UKMoths
  10. :thumbup1:Congrats big man! And yes, Arbtalk is right up there with chainsaws and rope when it comes to usefulness. Its the best tool outside of my toolstore.
  11. Double-ended bar, with soft-porn calendar attached as a freebie?
  12. There's a lot of scope for distasteful pun there Steve, seeing as the caterpillars can get quite large.... (smiley face of some sort)
  13. Not quite Tony. It's a privet hawk moth (sphinx ligustri) also known as... Well, actually just as the privet hawk moth. The elephant hawk (deilephila elpenor) is quite different.
  14. Must be google knowing your every move, they come second in my results, after the website we're after.
  15. Why ask me, when google is your friend? Let me google that for you
  16. Let me google that for you
  17. Let me google that for you Funny!
  18. Can't quite understand how you can say the Spanish are cowards? This would have been filmed on the Azores, Portugal:001_tongue:
  19. Nice work there. It's exactly the same as a bicycle kick-back brake, beautiful mechanics.
  20. I believe the current generations of heavy horses are too big. Since the widespread use of tractors horses have been little more than a hobby for most, and the agricultural shows would reward the bigger horses, not necessarily the most useful ones. This has lead to oversized animals. Something like a Dales is an ideal size I reckon.
  21. Just wondered, what kind of bearing there is in the nose sprocket of a bar? I've been attempting to make a mill and wondered if it would be possible to drill a single hole through the centre of the nose sprocket of a 36" stihl rollomatic to gain 2" of cut? I've never taken a nose apart but there must be someone who has? The rivets in the centre look like they form a circle easily big enough to make a hole for a single bolt? Thanks, daniel.
  22. Maybe that's because they are different trees needing different things? As far as I know : apples in jan/feb and stone fruit after their crop is ripe so end of summer. I'm sure there's more learned folk that can prove me wrong/right though...
  23. They don't have a sting:confused1:
  24. We used to have one just like that years ago. I never got on with it, always found it jarred a lot as it strikes the wood, does its lever-thing and then stops dead. Looks in good nick though and I'm sure it'll be beneficial in the right type of wood, I just never found its type...
  25. Looks good! Good craftsmanship on the banana, what did you finish it with to get it looking so real?
