i have an eye spliced in each end and attach with shackle. Bowline is ok for heavy pulls but is kinked until next pull, 25mm rope is a stiff rope to tie a tight knot but thinner sizes maybe better.

Large pull rope I use is a 50m 25mm polysteel rope I bought of EBay, it only down side its heavy.

If you are working for 1 agri contractor you should be an employee not self employed. But do read all the small print on insurance you are thinking of going with.

14T machine is abit OTT for moving timber about unless you have a big yard. What about a tractor with crane on back you would not have 360' movement but more then a JCB 180' machine. Also a PTO to use if you need.

Pruning back to boundary - Overhanging STEM

What ever size it is you can cut it back to boundary, but maybe better to reduce over hang by thinning just to let more light in which would be better for the tree and keep neighbor happy. -
You should be able to claim a percentage for use in business, I run a landy 90 along with a 130 as main truck both insured a commercial vehicle. As for spec comfort has got nothing to do with them if you are travelling long distances.

Could be slightly bent rear wheel rim or has back axle move in some way so it is not running true you would not notice it when raised off the ground as no resistance.

When I bought first chipper it was a timberwolf 18/100 which was not £12,000, think it was £5,000 then a used 150 with low hours for £12,000.

When I need my first chipper worked hard raised the money and bought it and it then had to work hard for me which then bought the second. No dedt the machines are mine.

You should also mention to customer that you should revist next year and tidy it up if die back.

Update. Went in yesterday at 11.00 and got it repaired at 1.00 this morning, 2 emergencies held things up as well as bad management of theatre. 3 months before full back to work. Thanks for all advice.

Managed to cut extend tendon in thumb yesterday will boning some meat, got to go back Wednesday to re attach. Forgot to ask about recovery time anyone know.

That's exactly the problem I'm having at the moment, highways inspector spots a problem, out comes cc tree office - hmm yes that tree and the next need to be removed as a problem - landowner being the MOD have a bit more public duty of care so agree to have the work done - we price it and get the order to do it and organise the closure as its vertually a single track road and need to set a mewp up on it. 8 months on I'm still trying to get a date sorted to close the road to do it and the bill before we turn up will be over 1500 for charges and tm - really annoying thing is its same office that highlighted the need for the work thats making it difficult to get on and do it. Could get interesting if the tree actually fails and hurts someone while we are shuffling paper! You should be able to get an emergency closure to get the job done. Failing that just borrow a couple of tanks should did the job.
