  1. I run older Ifor williams trailers finding it a pain backing them about in the dark how have people fitted lights to there's for reversing. Was thinking of just buying magnet lamp and just stick it on when needed.
  2. It can be a bit of a hassle take timber trailer on and off tractor spool block and pipes are heavy. Width of trailer is the biggest problem I had when I built mine do make it 7 ft 6 inches or 6 ft made 6 ft get in every where I have been and some gateways have been tight. So I would consider width.
  3. Some trailers have very short draw bar but can get around it by using pin tow bar pulled out to max length. Timber trailer is OK for long stuff but not for arb wood unless it's got solid floor.
  4. Reach of crane is the key, my crane is a Farma 4,6 linkage mount so always carry a 3 meter sling for the odd bit I can not reach, but it trailer mount most of the time now. Have you considered linkage mounted and use the trailer you've got.
  5. If I'm read it right it was stolen 20 months ago so they will be lucky to find it.
  6. The height maybe your biggest problem if can't support them above balance they will split off, long handled fork to support top and lower gently.
  7. If they are cut with flail what a job with all them stems.
  8. Apologies you were tort the right way. Roads near me have been resurfaced with some horrible granite stone that cuts tyres. What make of tyre you running.
  9. Lazy driving turning steering wheel will stationary rather then when moving cuts tyres up.
  10. Called in on a mate this morning and his just got a MSA 200C chain looked very fine you would have to be good to sharpen it with no gauge. Did some work for a farmer a couple of years ago he had a Still battery saw I looked the just pick it up and go, good saw to have at back of chipper to re_sned the odd bit.
  11. You can make a mountain out of a molehill then.
  12. Fendt paint was good.
  13. Fendt in doc at moment brakes failed so strip down and found a half shaft seal gone and wheel cylinders. No ones going to pinch it.
  14. Beech will go first.
  15. Got an electric winch on landy and it do's battery in quicker then normal use. Has a chipper got a big enough alternator to keep up with supply need any way. There are a couple of hydraulic winch's out there which will pull you off your feet as they are fast.
  16. And cook you battery if used for long pull.
  17. Used oil called Plantoil on a job near river about 5 years ago with no trouble when changing back to what I use normally still got some kicking about in a can some were.
  18. Changed springs 4 months ago to see if it made a difference which it has
  19. 150 ones and only 4 months old.
  20. I saw a monkey winch about 6 years ago in a barn it was 3 times the size of all the others I have seen for sale and on YouTube. He said it was a special order one with 20 ton rating bet it still sits there.
  21. Maybe your supervisor has always seen tree surgeons using them with ppe on but that's the norm as use other saws as well.
  22. If DVSA gave us free run at it we could come up with one by the end of year.
  23. That would be a project to do, my old boss had a 2A forward control but was modified a bit.
  24. If there was a perfect answer we all would run that set up.
