  1. Lovely bowl Steve Like the size of it
  2. Have you tried osmo Wood protector I think its 4006.A coat of that first seeps right into the wood
  3. Mill it into 3" and 4" planks and sell to woodturners if you turn it into blanks it will split
  4. When I turn bowls which are likely to come apart, I turn the outside then wrap it in tape to hold it together until the inside is turned .Then take the tape off and finish the bowl stops you getting hit with bits flying off
  5. Do something with it quick.It splits really easily
  6. Wipe on with a clean rag <not too generous,Little and often is best .Leave for a couple of minute and rub off the excess quite firmly After 2 or 3 coats Buff up with a lint free rag ,and don't be shy with the elbow grease
  7. keep logs as long as possible ,short logs always split even when end sealed
  8. The other trick is some 0000 wire wool with OSMO on and really polish hard

  11. Beautiful timber used to be able to buy it steamed when it went a lovely pink colour
  12. Once you have applied a thin coat wipe off the excess within 10 minutes If you buff up your board with a rag and a tiny amount of osmo it will come good

  14. Hi Dan Love the fish I have a pyrography tool you can borrow if you like ,try your hand at it cheers steve
  15. Round Hollow the inside out and turn a bowl to drop in the hollow if that makes sense
  16. Apply with a rag or strong tissue leave 5 to 10 minutes and then wipe off the excess . After a couple of coats the final coat can be buffed up to the required sheen
  17. Offhand I think it's about 16 to 18 ins just to give stability
  18. 30 ins tall and 5 ft across
  19. Here's One I made this year .Second one I have made Standard dining table size
  20. Osmo poly x oil for interiors and osmo exterior uv oil for outside
