Hi Just started up again after 15 years working for a living.Started turning to make a few bob to help the pension ,but not got round to selling any yet The inlay is using crushed tourquoise,and its a bu!!er to work with i have also started inlaying with abalone shell i will post apic some time slackbladder
  2. Heres another Elm with woodworm holes filled in couldn't throw the wood away just because of worm holes slackbladder

Hi I'm new to the site so bare with me I am a woodturner.I do it because i appreciate wood in all forms from the tree to the chainsaw carvers ( i cuoldn't do that ) to the arborists ( fear of heights stops that ) but i appreciate all forms of wood and found that i can be a reasonable turner and when i get the hang of this sight i will post pics I like to use all the wood which is of no use to you millers.Straight grain and neat and tidy is no use to us,the more character the better I recently went to a tee surgeon and rescued a piece of yew that was destined for the log pile ,I turned it into a lovely clock By the way all the people i have been in touch with on this site have been extremely helpfull and a pleasure to talk to many thanks steve slack slackbladder No i'm not telling you how i got he name
