  11. Have you heard of meningitis in dogs. I hadn't intill my 15 month old flatcoat got it.Starts with dog being very lethargic, tired and develpoes to stiff neck.We took her to the vets and she stayed in overnight on anti inflamatories and anti biotics, next day she was a bit better so we took her home.2 days later she took really ill so we took her to a better vet.She had x rays spinal taps etc ,but she had very difficult symptoms such as bloodshot eyes.2 days later they rang while she was under anasthetic to say they couldn't do another spinal tap as her brain pressure was too high. They said the only thing left was to try steroids and hope that it was meningitis. We went in to say our goodbyes and the little so and so came round the corner wagging her tail the difference was remarkable she is now well on the road to recovery but it just shows how easy thing happen Yes i wish i had taken ot insurance and saved myself £1300

  17. Hi I'm new to the site so bare with me I am a woodturner.I do it because i appreciate wood in all forms from the tree to the chainsaw carvers ( i cuoldn't do that ) to the arborists ( fear of heights stops that ) but i appreciate all forms of wood and found that i can be a reasonable turner and when i get the hang of this sight i will post pics I like to use all the wood which is of no use to you millers.Straight grain and neat and tidy is no use to us,the more character the better I recently went to a tee surgeon and rescued a piece of yew that was destined for the log pile ,I turned it into a lovely clock By the way all the people i have been in touch with on this site have been extremely helpfull and a pleasure to talk to many thanks steve slack slackbladder No i'm not telling you how i got he name
