Daughter came over the other day and talked me into helping her make a bench.Made from Elm,Hemlock and frame is made from some Kerroin reclaimed from a wooden bridge.I don't use foreign timbers normally but as its for the daughter and cost nowt i think thats ok.Managed to get it finished and first coat of exterior uv resist osmo on 2 bits of lapis lazuli to cover screw holes in the arms
  2. Hi I have 2 burr cherry coffee tables ,don't know if its your sort of thing or not.High gloss top and hazel legs

  5. Hi Love the table great stuff The resin is messy stuff to work with( i use the Polylite now its a reasonable price) Love the size of your work and the carving adds a new dimension

    Do you mind telling me more about your kiln.I have an 8ft x4ft x4ft insulated box which used to house the Logosol sauno

    It Is now empty and I intend to turn it into a more conventional kiln.I have a fan heater with a seperate controlfor temp and can't make up my mind wether to go for a dehumidifier or what

    any advice would be a great help

  11. Hi Rob Its different shades of iridescent paint.Looks fantastic in bright light
  12. Hi poplar turns ok and distorts a bit when wet but the bowl had only been felled a couple of weeks and was soaking wet.Difficult to get a good finish I have a few more bits of it to turn yet Got a cracking good bit from where the pollarding was Its as soft as butter to turn
