  1. Hi Matt

    How are things going

    The craft fair scene at the minute is dire.Sitting around for hours to make £80 is not fun

    Have you ever tried using the pour on resin for table top etc,thinking of having a go

    Resin is not working well at the minute,its only has a shelf life of 3 months or so

    Can't get the stuff to go off properly.dries on top but is still wet where it touches the wood.4 goes on one clock and i'm getting pretty pee'd off

    Love the tables you are making.Yew is such a good wood

  3. Hi Heres my latest bowl measures 55cm x47 cms x10cms Ash with turqyoise inlay in fisures must work out how to get smaller pics

  5. Hi Heres more pics of the ash burr ? The first pic is with the bark on (18in dia ) The second pic Is with the bark off ( 14 ins dia ) Any Ideas The holes go into the wood for 2 ins or so

Hi I have the sauno kiln and I just can't get on with the thing Steam kilns are supposed to be best for burry or pippy woods well I just wasted half a ton of Elm,it shrank back more than you could imagine Only had it 6 months used it twice and scrapped lots of timber Any buyers Yes I am Jonathans customer
  7. Large area of attachment sometimes going right round a branch or most of trunk
  8. Hi Again The pic is about 8" dia and was growing on a branch about 4" thick But its everywhere

Hi Forgive my ignorance can anybody tell me what causes this in ash Its not a standard burr and some of the holes are quite deep While I was cleaning it a hornet came out,made me jump out of my skin ,I'm glad it was a bit drowsy.Put it in the wood pile to see if it survives winter This piece is only about 8 ins diameter but some of the others on the same tree are 18ins across many thanks slackbladder:confused1:

Hi i bought a fairly cheap website and great customers can get in touch ok.But I think it is worth paying the extra for a good website that can get you noticed on goole etc I get very few enquiries because only people who have my card know about it I'm considering paying for a better site,where they gaurantee me gatting noticed What do you all think slackbladder
  14. Hi i have been offered 8 yew tree roots in varying diameters What do you think would be a fair price I have heard silly rumours about them being worth lots what do you reckon.I have one for doing a job in exchange slackbladder
