  1. really comfy and the bend in the back starts at about 9 ins.just right

  3. Didn't use fox joints as the tenons were a great fit First rocker i have made Maybe an idea to use fox joints on the next chair
  4. PS All the timber came from Big J.All Elm appart from ash arms

  9. Afraid I cheated and used the arboetech for the seat shaping And as for the glue I have just been and purchased some rabbit skin glue

Latest project Rocking chair all made in Elm (supplied by Big J ) most of the chair has been ok .Spindles for the back are tapered and steam bent to shape,but the arms are proving to be a real pain 3 two ins by 1/2 ins slices of Elm steam bent and glued together.Struggling to find a glue that can cope

  15. I visit quite a few woodyards and it is almost impossible to but british wood,even the ash comes from France.What is happening to our timber I pride myself on only using british timber and hope it is a good selling point but it ain't easy to find

  17. I Use A grinder with a flat lay sanding disc ,followed by a mini random orbiyal sander down to 320 grit.It ca save a lot of time The bowl looks a stunner though
