  1. You can buy some stuff from Electrolube called LRM it's designed fro removing labels and the sticky residue
  2. Elm Burr about 12 ins across
  3. The wood is encased in the epoxy resin and put in a pressure chamber,than when it's dry I turn it on the lathe.The Epoxy turns beautifully The pressure chamber is just to make sure there are no air pockets and bubbles

  5. Polyester shrinks and doesn't adhere to the wood.Polyurethane reacts with any moisture in the wood and Epoxy works well but costs a fortune
  6. First try was Polyester second was Polyurethene and this one was epoxy
  7. Not the usual piece from me but I have been experimenting with soft wood and casting it in resin.This was a piece of Elm with a hole of rot running through it,used the wet rot hardener to stabilise the wood

  15. No smell; I have used Keruing in the past and I don't think it's that Very heavy timber,i would say heavier than oak and its bone dry ,been in a guys loft for years
  16. I managed to get hold of this the other week but I don't know foreign timbers at all So can someone id this.the piece is about 3 ft long x8 ins wide and 6 ins thick and as heavy as hell It looked more orange than before I planed a bit se7enthdevil any ideas
