Hi been using a chainsaw for 30 + years with no bother but figured it might be time to get some sort of qualification Use a 20" stihl and a smaller echo, Cutting logs up to 24" diameter What course do I need and is there anywhere local to Hinckley in Leics that holds the courses Never cut anything for profit so I only do it for my own benefit Anybody help or am I just better off carrying on the way I have for 30 years

Hi Coombe abbey is holding the second Festival Of Crafts on 12th and 13th September this year and we could really do with a chainsaw carver Anyone interested Last year was a great success,thousands turned up. There were lots of turning demonstrations and a milling Demo from Art In Oak which was fantastic The Festival would be greatly enhanced by a Chainsaw carver The event will be held at Coombe Abbey Country Park near Coventry Anybody fancy a go Cheers
  9. OSMO do an exterior UV protection oil but I don't know if it would stop the fading
  10. Wood turners are the hardest to sell to as they always want the wood dry and cut into blanks and most aren't keen to pay much for their timber

  12. Anybody recommend any craft fairs in the London are for my sort of goods Rustic wooden stools Coffee tables,Bowls etc Can be seen on woodcharm.co.uk Decided to branch out a little, Ideal Homes Exhibition phoned me yesterday and were talking of £18,000..OUCH
  13. Anybody know of any hollow pieces of wood in the Midlands area Preferably about 2 foot in diameter and almost any length. Minimum of about 15 inches, Preferably somewhere near dry. Just an idea for Coffee tables Hope someone can help Cheers
  14. If you can find the right market maybe they sell but I have had the dining table in a gallery for months at £600 and can't shift it, losing a bit of confidence, coffee tables sel great but not the bigger stuff
