  1. Folks really need to be aware of conditions above and below the surface. Rip tide is typically under estimated along our gold and sun coast lines. During the winter months many folks play the parts of fools and often enough really hurt them selfs and occasional end up dead from drowning. I am sure Rich can vouch for how strong the rip tide or under tow can be! easy-lift guy

I believe you would be better trying a larger firm like: Asplundh, 2120 Mission Rd Ste R Escondido, CA 92029 Neighborhood: Escondido (760) 489-1135 Take Care easy-lift guy

  14. My Father served in the USAAC rank of Tech Sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Mead Maryland. I have some where a picture of him posing with another flyer in front of his Piper Cub. I have been told he would patrol the Eastern Seaboard coastline looking for U-Boats for Bombers to finish off. My Twin Uncles Leo and Joe both served in the ETO and landed on Normandy first day of D-Day. Both held the rank of Sergeant in the US Army. My Uncle John was a Medic and also landed at Normandy. During action he was hit by a shell fragment in the throat and was sent home with a medical discharge. My Uncle Al also served in the US Army and was another Sergeant. He did serve in the ETO,however I do not have as much information about him. My Uncle Henry served in the US Coast Guard and was stationed state side. The most interesting Uncle was my Uncle Stub. Actual name"Aubrey" Uncle Stub was a runner and Motorcycle Dispatch Rider for General Patten. One story I have been told was when my Uncle Stub was sent to a forward operating base with a specific message for a Major. Seems my Uncle made it to the encampment without any issues and the guards in front of the Majors tent check his id and let him pass. A Captain met my Uncle just inside of the tent and asked him what he wanted?. My Uncle said I have a message for Major. The Captain said I will take that message to the Major. My uncle said No Sir. Understand that my Uncle was to hand deliver the message with a reply from the Major. Seems the Captain was a little pissed off that this Sergeant was not willing to budge. The Captain told my Uncle you will hand me that message or I will have you arrested. My uncle took a step back and said No Sir this message is for Major only. The Captain ordered the Two MP's in front of the tent in and told them to arrest my Uncle. My Uncle pulled his carbine up in front of the Captains nose and said, with all do respect Sir, if you take this message away from my I will be forced to blow your brains out. Within a few seconds the Major entered from his portion of the tent/office and asked what was the meaning of this. My Uncle lowered his carbine and asked the officer if he was Major and the Major said yes I am. My Uncle told him he had a message from Division for him and only him to read, reply. The Major told the Captain and the Two MP's they were dismissed. My Uncle was told by the Major to follow him and after he had read the message and prepared a reply told my Uncle what happened tonight did not happen, is that clear?. My Uncle followed orders and went back to his CO's HQ. O by the way the Captain from what I have been told was some guy in intelligence named Henry Kissinger. My Uncles lived through WW II and returned to America to merry and raise future generations. easy-lift guy
  15. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well. easy-lift guy
  16. Reads like you have done everything you can. Contact the customer and recommend another company to handle the job. easy-lift guy
  17. There is no such thing as free medical care. High taxation to support the social safety net within the UK pays for the health care system, everything else. Free medical care is available to US citizens and regrettably non or illegal residents. As long as I have a choice I will pay my own way. I help people that are willing and able to help them selfs because what go' around comes around. More than a saying, my way of life. easy-lift guy
  18. I believe we were talking about health insurance, not liability insurance for tree work:sneaky2: easy-lift guy
  19. Funny thing is storm damage from Hurricanes and tornados spawned from same storms don't just pick and choose who's home will be destroyed:sneaky2: I am sure if asked the people of the UK would and could pull together in times of emergencies As for your last question I carry my own health and medical insurance, over here it's not a right, it's a personnel responsibility . O BTW when I travel to the UK I take out a special policy so as to not burden your countries health care system during my stay. Again going back to personnel responsibility. easy-lift guy
  20. Tell you what. If you buy tickets for the AT Christmas Raffle and win the ELH I will send you a fit card for a local masseuse easy-lift guy
  21. Egg things are tough all over. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Karen. easy-lift guy
  22. I understand your reasons. When Hurricane Charlie hit just South of my residence on August the 9th 2004 I called my best friend who lost his house and asked him if there was anything I could do or bring. He said he needed gas and chainsaws if I had any. I told him I would be down ASAP since I had to secure gasoline locally. On the way down I passed hundreds of homes damaged and destroyed. I stopped twice before I finally made it to my friends house to cut up and remove storm damage for total strangers who's cars were either blocked by trees in their garages or pinned down by trees. These folks were in a state of shock and had no help. It was not a matter of charging any price or what the market would bare. People needed help and I was happy to be in the right place at the right time. And I did not except any money in spite of the fact that I could have. My friends house did have 4 small trees to cut up and drag to the front yard. Mission accomplished:thumbup1: That year the Sunshine State sustained damage from 4 Hurricanes, and although I was only able to help in a small way when you multiply that number by thousands of personnel and companies from all over the country we pulled through:thumbup1:, in spite of adverse conditions. BTW, Many companies worked around the clock to help others in need for no other reason than to help. Christmas is the season of giving, nothing hypothetical about it how one chooses to give or receive is another story. easy-lift guy
  23. That's great if the parcel arrives on time. Seeing as the OP will already be in LA he can just as well try on and ask what ever questions he might have in person at the retail location. Lot to be said for brick and mortar locations, online stores do have their limitations. easy-lift guy
  24. Funny how a majority of post are willing to work on Christmas Day for double or triple their normal hourly or day rate, yet seemingly treat this same day as just another day?. Feel bad for folks that are charged more on Christmas than on any other work day, especially by some who feel the market can bare the additional burden for the sake of a holiday. easy-lift guy
