  1. I can save some mystery about this post. Kirk1701 is the name of the OP. His story is about using a ladder to trim a long walnut branch next to a shed with limited drop zone and even less experience when it comes to tree work. The branch in question came down and crushed his fiber glass ladder and left him brushed and sore. I believe an ELH could of worked for this application on the right persons back and if same person knew anything about trimming. Sadly in both cases this person is and will always be out of his league. easy-lift guy
  2. Nice time laps. Looks like the weather was on your side. Was the timber of any value in the end other than fire wood? Thanks easy-lift guy
  3. If you can afford it a 3rd 4th or even 5th opinion may help you to finally make up your mind. An informed consumer like anything else usually makes the best patient. Of course results can and will vary. Take care of your self and I do wish you a successful out come and speedy recovery. easy-lift guy
  4. Johnny Walker is actually a distiller, only does firewood as a hobby. His last name is Red. easy-lift guy
  5. I have, calm down. Plod as you refer to the Police are not in the business of automatic suspicion. Having a source of data to work with in conjunction with on going cases of theft or missing property is a valuable investigative tool. Under lawful circumstances and court ordered subpoena if need be many cases can and do get solved. Reasonable suspicion and ones rap sheet is usually enough to start an investigation here state side. I believe there may be a bit more apathy on the part of the Police on either side of the pond. Just like good and bad folks every where. easy-lift guy
  6. One of the many good things about being a member of AT is the fact that specific information is required for membership. I believe if requested by authorities in connection with any and all missing and stolen property this information could prove valuable with regards to solving crimes and recovery of property. This I have seen on several occasions since I joined AT:thumbup1: With membership comes power and responsibility. I am 110% in favor of putting the Perps away for a very long time when and how ever possible. I just don't want them to know all my plans in advance:sneaky2: easy-lift guy
  7. My biggest concern has to do with the specifics and free flow of information under general chat. I believe the members only forum is far more appropriate for sharing opinions and suggestions about security measures when protecting ones belongings. If anyone honestly believes that the post on this site are only read by good hard working people trying to help one another remember the opposite is sadly very true, IMHO. easy-lift guy
  8. Perhaps an 8-10-10 may help start the process, if available? easy-lift guy
  9. I believe sharing info is important, however I suggest having this discussion in the members only forum since the balance of the world can and does read this site under this listing. No point advising the enemy of ones intentions in advance. easy-lift guy
  10. Interesting story. In spite of all that took place. The mission went forward. easy-lift guy
  11. Thank you for your service JimM. easy-lift guy
  12. Wow!, I never heard about that story. Not that it is not true, however being a crime scene I believe the forensic teams on hand had to of supervised the recovery of such evidence. easy-lift guy
  13. Thanks for the thoughts. I was watching a documentary last night presented by the History channel on 911. This presentation gives a running time line from the moment the first jet crashes into WTC Tower I until falling of tower II. This program is very graphic and is all shot by news crews and private citizens on site at the time of attack in NYC. If anyone truly wants to have a first hand accounting of this terrorist attack against my country I would recommend this program 100%. easy-lift guy
  14. I would say any and all works done by Buster Keaton. Watched a 1928 classic last night on TCM, titled One week. easy-lift guy

  18. Dan, You read like you have given your career change a fair amount of consideration and planning, that's the really important part. Having served in the military you understand how to take orders and to adapt to situation on the fly. Important stuff for sure. My only other advise would be to have in reserve at least 18 months in savings to cover all of your day to day bills. Once your service time is up you will discover how much faster time will fly bye. Thank you for your service. easy-lift guy
  19. Utility companies out west have been using these for years. Really neat. easy-lift guy

  21. I know your not kidding, please stop teasing and tell me what you really would do:sneaky2:. I would just play out any situation by the book or Law:thumbup1: If you have cordon off the work area according to rules, regs get on with the job. There are always sidewalk superintendents milling about any job, human nature for the most part. Don't get caught up in squandering emotional capital because of a few bad apples now and again. easy-lift guy
  22. Greetings from the Sunshine State, Welcome. easy-lift guy
