  1. I know of many companies who've done exactly that and continue to do it for reassessments. It's a total joke. Every single operator I know, knows that this happens. Surely the AA are not so naive that they don't know this happens!?
  2. Right on Bob. I know a few 'leave' voters who told me "well it can't get any worse if we leave can it!" Ha! Morons. Although this is content for another thread. I need to talk to you actually about two jobs, I'll call later.
  3. Yes. One of the best posts so far. 👍🏼
  4. I know four people who have them and hate them. I know lots of people who love Stein Krieger trousers.
  5. No not really. They're a AAAC therefore they are supposed to be working to a higher standard. If they don't, it makes a mockery of the system and all other AAAC firms who could them think, 'why should I bother'.
  6. It's easy to see what went wrong. The tree should have been dismantled and what happened is a disgrace. Simple. The Arb Assoc should be over that company like a fat kid on a chocolate!
  7. Apparently it's good. I'll try to remember and get photos at the weekend.
  8. Don't tell him that! Lol!
  9. Yes it can. I can get photos if you like John. It's next to a very big driveway. BTW, it's a Monterey Cypress.
  10. Yes, the Krieger trousers. They have a stretchy material over the bum and the overall cut is more suitable than other trousers I've seen. ie: The knee is long, the back is high and they are slightly roomy down the legs. Therefore when you bend over, squat or just lift a knee when climbing, the material doesn't go tight on your leg. The best way of determining if trousers fit well is the 'Truck Test'. Get in the drivers seat and if the material feels tight on the front of your knee, then you should buy the Stein Krieger.
  11. I buy in loops from you unless I need one instantly then I go to my local dealer. I don't know exactly how prices compare but I do know that my local guy isn't that good at making loops as I've had a few snap.
  12. I have seen a few female climbers who wear the Matt Cornell rope harness. It appears a good design due to the wide adjustment range. Having said that, the women I've seen in the Cornell were the same shape as my 10yr old son!
  13. If Graham is doing any of that loading/unloading you'd better make the whole lot stronger than strong. Also consider stabilisers or he'll have the whole lot on its side! Hahahha!
  14. Send it to Spuduljke and he'll sort it no problem.
  15. Brilliant! 😂😂😂😂
  16. Very strange thread to start on a forum called 'climbers talk'!
  17. Problem is, most women that so this job are shaped like men ie: narrow hips, therefore they fit our gear perfectly. It would be very expensive for manufacturers to produce low volume production runs of trousers for women with hips or raincoats to suit a woman's shape. However, I know two women who work in Arb and would benefit from more suitable clothing. Edit: they wear Stein chainsaw trousers and have found them most suitable at accommodating their shape.
  18. Solent Body Builders will build you an excellent product at a good price and they're service is even better. They'll pick up and drop you off at the station or whatever, just to make it easier for you.
  19. What AllyH said but if that doesn't sort it, Spudulike will. Send it to him and his magic wand.
  20. Yeah we all know already. Lol!
  21. I can't comment on durability as we don't wear them that often but looking closely at the seams etc, they appear to be very very well made. Far better than most of the 'cool' garments available in UK retailers and that's a fact.
  22. I ordered them from Zenitec NZ, and I was served by Hayden Smith who was extremely helpful. For the price I think they represent excellent value but of course the shipping and import tax puts the price up a bit. (My client was paying though lol!) I also got a box of FR tops which are also very comfortable.
  23. Yes I bought a bunch of them and they appear to be very good quality and are very comfortable.
  24. I say the same thing on these threads every summer. The solution to maintaining correct levels of hydration in hotter temps is to add 1 or 2 extra ice cubes to the Vodka or Rum. Perfect!
  25. I bet you're right. I've been water skiing this morning, diving this afternoon and now I'm going to drink all the beer for fear that it will get warm!
