    That's what I wanted to say Ben but didn't feel I should as I haven't owned a RR or used it for an adequate time period to judge.

    Basically I got a price from someone that I regarded to be a bit steep and thought I could save money by doing elements of the job myself. HUGE mistake! Never again.

    To compare the RR to the BDB is tricky as they are quite different devices. Same principle but operate and feel quite different. The BDB appears to be the favourite by a long stretch.

    How much money did they spend on development of the t540xp and 560xp then? About £8.50 I reckon because mine was shite after a few months. How do you know it's good? Let us guess, you work for Husqvarna but probably indirectly.

    I did a course years ago and we were shown case studies where water content had been measured on fallen branches and on the renaming stub as well as other parts of the tree. It had been a fairly invasive study but revealed very compelling evidence.

    Any saw can and will get fine dust in to the carb if the filter isn't cleaned often enough. Regularity of cleaning is dictated by the type of filter not "it never 'appened on me other saw, innit!" Your dealer right about finer dust due to blunt chain and/or depth gauge height.

    What you talking about Mike?! My Unimog produced much worse smoke than that all the time and it ran fine. Well, no power, massive oil consumption, stinking......... Hahaha!
