  1. Oh don't mention the war! There was once a very heated thread on exactly that subject! Hahaha!
  2. Oh there is page 3 and 4 ad well but I got too dizzy when I got that far!
  3. Smokers. Queuing at the chipper when there is brush still in the garden. Yelling from the top of the tree: "Just found a pigeon nest!". Dog poo. Driving the truck like they stole it. Wouldn't do it if they paid for it! Groundies that leave the chipper on full throttle when there's nothing happening. Wouldn't do it if they paid for it! Continuing to use a saw with a slack chain. Wouldn't do it if they paid for it! Fuelling tools in the wrong place. Wouldn't do it if they paid for the consequence! Using the metal rake like a shovel. Wouldn't do it if they paid for it! Using the plastic rake on the driveway. Wouldn't do it if they paid for it! Using the metal rake when they should use the broom! Using the plastic rake when the should……………...
  4. I looked at moving to BC about 14 years ago. Learned about the annual rain fall. I'm not tough enough. Lol!
  5. Jensen A540 & Forst TR8 both use just more than a tank on a very busy day. So it's safe to assume of course that the tanks are deliberately the size they are. However, with petrol engines not only will the fuel bill be much higher, we'll have to start carrying spare fuel canisters just to get through the day. I'm hating this idea.
  6. Ditto! But that's the life of every employer in every industry really! Lol! 😂😂
  7. Leaving stuff all over the place and never storing gear in exactly the same place every time, thus guaranteeing that nobody can ever find anything when it's needed. At the end of the job, loading the rakes and hedgecutters before loading ladders then logs! "Yeah but we gotta get the logs out first, innit." ****! Junk food wrappers falling out the cab and leaving it lying on drive way! Getting out cab and slamming the door on the seat belt! Every time! Opening door, flicking seatbelt in properly then not closing door properly! Every time! Leaving one piece of gear on site every time I'm not there! Arriving 5-10 minutes late and blaming it on traffic even though his colleague lives in the same town! Every day! Watching me put the gob cut in a tall stem then walking under to get a branch as I'm doing the back cut! Every single time! Blood pressure is up now so I'm logging off!
  8. Mine stalls most of the time when idling. It takes several pulls to restart it, usually. Not entirely impressed as my 2510 was better in this area. I guess I need to buy the tool to adjust the carb. However, I still love it and wouldn't change it.
  9. Yes. It looks good and I have it on good authority that it performs surprisingly well.
  10. Due to a continually increasing workload we need another climber to join the team. If you're a freelancer you will be adequately experienced with the right skill set to fit in well with us. Most of our work is domestic with a few commercial clients but we don't do street tree or highways work so it's all pretty relaxed and rewarding. If you fit the bill please call 07834414271 or PM or email [email protected] Thank you Al.
  11. All this worry about big brother and loss of privacy is moot. We are all so connected these days that any agency, NSA, Mi6 etc can access ALL of your stuff easily if they want to. So can talented hackers if they feel like it. It's not just the stuff of movies, I know a teenager who can hack your Facebook account in seconds! It's amazing what else he can gain access to in under a minute! I'm all for open access to be honest. I've got nothing to hide but I do fear corruption.
  12. I know that there was a thread on this earlier this year but now I can't find it. I need a tracked chipper from December the 8th near the M25 / A22 junction. Access is 2m wide but if necessary we could expand by removing a fence. We will be feeding the chipper with a 360, unless the chipper has a crane. Please call 07834 414271 or email [email protected] or PM Many thanks Al.
  13. Due to continued expansion we currently need a good groundie on a part time basis. It could be fixed days or erratic, depending upon your availability. Most of our work is in the Reigate area and is domestic Arb work with a smattering of clearance jobs. If you can work to a high standard, are presentable, motivated and mix well with other people, please call or PM me. 07834 414271. Pay is dictated by your abilities and production, not age, qualis or years experience. The right person is the most desirable for us. Thanks Al.
  14. Good idea. What do you call them? I've searched but can't find what you describe. Certainly cheaper than the same thing from an Arb retailer!
  15. That's what I'm aiming to do!
  16. That looks very good and a nice progression Gordon. BTW, I use my BDB exclusively now and the other gear just gathers dust!
  17. I LOVE my Cougar Blue for SRT but to use it Doubled with a Spiderjack or similar would not be nice.
  18. What kind of helmet? I have Protos and bought a small really bright light from a cycle shop. Sticks on with the adhesive patch. You can also get a proper Protos light and mount.
  19. So I've put the new brackets on my Protos which apparently have new springs. Different metal or something. Anyway, massive difference, HUGE! So anyone who's fed up with sound deadening, change the brackets! Big thank you to Clark's Forestry for correctly diagnosing this. Now the noise deadening is acceptable and the Sena sounds better at the same time. 👍🏼👍🏼

  21. Hahahha! That should 'cope with 12 inches!'
  22. Yes they did as standard. However, I still open up the machine to cast my beady eye over everything.
  23. I agree with what's been said and would only add that he shouldn't use a VT knot. Too unreliable. Distel or Knut is much better and safer.
