  1. Thanks Rob D.
  2. I've never heard of Tsumara bars. What's the difference?
  3. Just still with the boots you've got. Climbing boots won't make you a good climber as you'll have much bigger issues to deal with, like learning to use the gear safely and climb a tree.
  4.

    <p>HI William</p>

<p>The throttle and choke cables need to be lubricated otherwise they start sticking inside the sheath. I use WD40 sprayed into the top end and work the levers a bit to make the WD40 travel down. I cut two holes in the yellow metal cover to facilitate this otherwise it's a hassle having to unbolt the cover every time.</p>

<p>However, I should also add that I store mine in a shipping container which can be very damp at times so that probably doesn't help.</p>

<p>Also, mine is the earlier 450 and I think the current models have better levers and cables.</p>

<p>Great machine and I wouldn't change it, despite once saying I wish I'd got the HB20 instead. The P450 or 460 is a great small machine to compliment the Carlton 7015trx or similar.</p>

  5. You're on. I bet a bottle both ways. 😂🍾
  6. Don't know Joe. The dealer told me that they are Sugihara bars with echo name on. I don't give a sh!t so long as it cuts well.
  7. Apparently all Echo saws are now coming with Sugihara bars. They just have Echo printed on the sides instead of Sugihara.
  8. Yep their website is crap but their service is excellent.
  9. ATS Machinery is selling the little Echo with 10" Sugihara bar and skinny chain for £319. Brilliant.
  10. Brilliant. Thanks so much.
  11. Does anyone know where I can get a very long wood auger? The longest I've found is 600mm. 24mm thick ideally but not too important.
  12. The Arbaid course is perfect. Specifically aimed at exactly what we do. No fanning around dealing with paper cuts or bloaters falling off an office chair!. Call Grieg and he'll set you up. He comes to you and you only need six people.
  13. Call Leon Avery at Jacksons Fencing.
  14. If you want another t540xp I'll sell you mine as I'm not using it any more.
  15. The Protos is the best ventilated helmet on the market due to the design and also has the highest safety rating.
  16. Try calling Benton Arboriculture. He's doing a lot of work in Croydon area so another tip may help him out.
  17. Yes the Protos comma set is being sold by Honey Brothers now. It's way more expensive than the Sena (expected) but only connects as a pair. Huge advantage of the Sena system is connecting to multiple units. So IMO Protos have just ruled themselves out of the market of most tree firms on the day they launched the product! Shame.
  18. Excellent post. The thread should have ended with it. 👍🏼👍🏼
  19. Does that mean you've used it as a doubled rope system? Isn't it a bit skinny to grip easily? What do you like about it so much? Thanks Al.
  20. I can't imagine a CDF Smoke Jumper parachuting into the High Street to cut down a hedge so that the fire doesn't spread to the Cobra braced Oak that overhangs Aunt Ethel's garage. Lol! I can imagine a Smoke Jumper landing in the wilderness, 100 miles from the nearest Cobra braced tree. I wonder if this thread is loosing focus. Hahaha!
  21. I had no idea that you knew your mum keeps 'visiting' me!!
  22. I think it's the bounce that would put me off as I usually work on a base anchor. My main reason for choosing the Cougar Blue is because it doesn't stretch.
  23. Love it when you book the job in 3 weeks in advance and when you turn up the client proudly shows his handy work, that he did yesterday!!! Surrounded the stump with gravel then asked how I'll keep the debris out of the gravel. 'Now watch this!' I nearly said whilst pushing the throttle forwards! Hahaha!
  24. Why are you asking if you've already made up your mind? Lol!
