  1. Done a job in Tottenham, London on the Friday before Christmas a few years back. Left the job at 2pm and got home at 6, just under 30 miles !
  2. Sorry to hear about the chipper. A guy near me had the same happen to him, fake bankers draft on a Saturday so by the time he took it to the bank in the Monday it was too late.
  3. Raining all day here on the west wales coast but really pouring down and the wind getting up the last hour or so.
  4. I've had mine a week now, just coming into it own. I've had 20 years using top handles, started with the 020, then the 020T and still use a MS200T. No complaints with the 540xp from me, it's not a MS200T but its not far away ! I'd recommend the 540xp to anyone with my experience of it so far.
  5. Back in 1997 I done a bit of work for a well known arb company in Surrey and I was a passenger in a van towing a little Vermeer that turned over after clipping a kerb at about 30mph, quite a mess of that machine. Easy done though.
  6. Beech, ash and birch on my woodburner
  7. Got mine today, will give it go over the next few days etc and report back
  8. I'd agree with the above comment, the average day is very big reductions and tricky dismantles that the guy or company hiring you don't fancy doing themselves.
  9. Stihl 090
  10. I agree 100% with a visit to a chiropractor as quick as possible. About 10 years back I woke up on a Thursday morning and couldn't move, it took 2 painkillers just to sit up in bed. Went to a chiropractor that afternoon, the Friday and Saturday and went back to work on the Monday !
  11. Hi Chris, I had the same learning curve about 12 years back, thought I could buy a 7.5 tonner and away I go. Then i found out about O licenses ! The iveco dealer I brought the truck from helped my loads but I could of done with the sort of service you talk about.
  12. That blokes so tight there's a fork in the sugar bowl at his house.
  13. I was thinking more about his history regarding touching & tongue action !
  14. The RSPCA with have something to say about that !
  15. Good thanks mate, keeping busy enough. Good to hear your back climbing.
  16. Nice work Tim, what driver did you have from B&A, Wyn ? & How's the leg feeling ?
  17. Hi karl, Welcome to arbtalk. If you are doing the training for CS30/31 and then the assessment you will be fine. I've trained a few guys who have never even picked a saw up before and they have passed ok. Just listen to all your told, read the assessment schedule and the more effort you put into the training week the more you will get out of it. Good luck with it.
  18. Sounds like they may be coming soon then, why don't all the dealers know this info though ?
  19. Good intro George, good luck with your job hunting.
  20. Hi Mark, I've had a pair of alloy bashlins for over 10 years now. Not cheap but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Nice set up there Adam, thanks for posting.
  22. Hi Jon, I was camping at seend as it goes and went to longleat yesterday with the family. I spoke to a few people so sorry if I didn't recognise you. It's a shame it rained as I would of stayed around at the show a while longer. Rob
  23. Hi silky, I was just about to come over and introduce myself Saturday at the arb show but I lost sight of you. It was just before it poured down with rain. I hung about for a while but went while it was still raining as I was camping down near longleat sat night. Maybe next time, Rob
  24. Well done mate, your be fine. Remember the names of the cuts you have been doing and what type of situation you would use them in. When you get a chance go through the maintenance on your own saw and practice sharpening. Read through the scheduled a few times before assessment day. Good luck.
  25. I'm going with family.
