  1. Wish you would have tested Save Edge. All I will buy anymore.
  2. Looks like flippy caps for the T540 ( work like stihls) or do they unscrew with tool less flip up?

  4. Seen that pic or one just like it last year too. Heck been so long it might have been 2 years ago now. :001_rolleyes:
  5. Thanks for info. 1st it was the Partner 5000 plus, then the 346xp, could the 550xp be the next best thing.
  6. So when the 550xp is working for you. What is your opinions of the 550xp versus the 346xp 50cc version? Say in the cut bucking, limbing etc. Are you using 325 or 3/8? I know over here the 50cc 346 loves the 3/8 in my world.
  7. Took this in on trade not long ago. Ran but down on power. Like the 12.25lb pho weight and torque it has for 62cc. As traded in with 20" bar. After with 16" new piston kit (old piston was usable and would have cleaned up if you were on a budget.) Cylinder cleaned up perfect. Replaced a bunch of wear parts and runs like new again. OK better then new with simple muffler mod.
  8. another example of 4 stroking before cut and then clearing up in the cut. If you cant hear it on my 166 your deaf [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqXOHsQE3Wk]Sachs Dolmar 166 30" 404 making 21" cookies - YouTube[/ame]

  10. I got a silver one I just pulled of one of my 346's. Nothing wrong with it I was going to paint it orange, but put it in the extras bin instead. This is why I hate the new silver. Note 2 different saws. Here they are new. Here is the dull grey after use. Give me the husky orange back.
  11. Top handle version is in the works.
  12. why???? Because we can. Had 3 of them with short bars 16" bars and shorter and here is a woods ported work saw with 60 drive link chain. Only running 9T in video, but was fasted with 11T in testing. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7VPAIgia-M]Woods ported stihl 084 with pop up piston and roller nose bar - YouTube[/ame]
  13. Just need to get the air pocket out.
  14. What you didnt want to see a nice ported 3120?
  15. That is nice clean aspen squared up to be able to test before and after gains made on saws and chains. Back then I was into gtg racing and real competition event racing and every little bit was needed. So I didnt want no crap wood that was knotty or uneven to test in. Needed results in my testing to show before and after with no interference of wood changes. Trust me the saws that cut good in the aspen also cut good in the shag bark hickory.
  16. Well get it done. Everyone in their brother on this side of the pond ports saws. I have lost the interest in them now days. My 357xp running 3/8 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZJeepcpaN8]Husqvarna 357xp pop up domed piston woods ported testing - YouTube[/ame]
  17. You guys seeing the red huskys over there yet? 2260 = 560xp and 2258 = 555 I hear. Thread with video of promotion of 2260 Jonsered 2260
  18. I can pick up a used solo 637 40cc top handle for $200 USD. Just so you know other options. I already have one or I would own this one too. Smoother AV then 200T. But not near the rpm of a 200 in the cut. But still over half the price of the 200.
  19. I dont know on 404. But on 3/8 on a 084 I went to a 9 and had to add 1 link . Trial and error have at it.

    Husky 55

I like the husky 55. Comes in open port and closed port. 1 is 45mm and 1 46mm bore. Prone items to look at is, intake leaks around rubber seal on intake connection and rubber impulse seal.

    Old Red

394 worked in a 166 so it could be made to work in 111 also. Open pin bosses to fit 14mm wrist pin like it was for a 166 and then with higher piston crown on 394 you have to run a spacer under cylinder. Can be done. The 111 p+c oem kit in pic is for sale here in the US. They bring really good $ though even here. Good luck guys.

Spud here is a new oem 111 piston spec. That way you can help dude over there. diameter 56mm wrist pin diameter 14mm piston skirt width 39.79mm piston height bottom of skirt to top of piston 49.86mm
  25. When I rebuild a saw I start my tuning at 1.5 turn out and go from there. Better to start to rich then to lean. I usually end up somewhere between .75 to 1.25 on H depending on saw and 1.25 to 1.50 on L . Got to remember our air altitudes here is different. I know when I get saws in from Nova Scotia NE of me to Midwest Ohio I have to re adjust carbs. Saws he says dont run for crap up there in their sea thin air have always ran great and impressed me in my area. MS361 was one of those.
