  1. The other thing to remember is that a doctor's idea of taking it easy may be different to ours. It doesn't just mean groundying instead of climbing, not using your biggest saw, using a splitter instead of an axe, or not stacking the woodpile too high. Nor does it mean staying at home mowing the lawn, digging the garden or repainting the front room. It's a trap I've fallen into a couple of times. For instance I was surprised to be told that strolling half a mile each way to collect the kids from school didn't count as taking it easy!
  2. I'm after some garden furniture, preferably in oak, and wondered if anyone here would be interested in making it? Looking for a table (180cm L x 1050cm W x 80cm H) and a pair of benches with backrests. Simple style, chunky but not rustic (no wany edges).
  3. Me too. They cut well and win hands down on weight. The only drawback is that the gearing means you need to move the handles a disproportionate distance to open the blades. Most of the time it's fine, but can occasionally be awkward in tight spots.
  4. Nice! Who does the Foden wrecker belong to?
  5. Never mind that. What did your bar bill come to?
  6. Ouch. I'd definitely want a good bar cover if I was using one of those!
  7. I'll be one of your noisy antisocial neighbours in Shangri-la
  8. Try asking on http://birtydastards.com/ there are some proper Jeep gurus on there who know way more than your local dealer will
  9. But there will be a 12t pull on the snatch block...
  10. I went on a visit to one of their hubs a year or so ago, and their operation is a bit different from the likes of Stobart. LC buy timber and chip it to their spec and don't take in "waste" chip. I guess this may change, but the operation that I saw was based on higher grade chip to G35 and G50 spec.
  11. My kids were getting bored with me practising my tree ID until they decided that the Latin names are like spells from Harry Potter. Then they started running round with stick wands shouting things like "Betula pendula" and "Corylus avellana"! For some reason they also found any of the Pinus genus wildly amusing
  12. I agree. There definitely does seem to be a gap in the market. Something like an AGT850 with a powered trailer would surely give an Alstor a run for its money and be way more versatile.
  13. Nice! Why should the climbers get all the shiny stuff anyway?
  14. Looks to me like it's one guy who will either climb or groundie for £130 a day and drives to work in his tipper. Presumably chipper or grinder would be more money, as would any extra people.
  15. £60 to transfer up to the High Court, and this is added to the amount you get back anyway. All the other ballifs costs are collected direct from the debtor.
  16. I've done it several times and it isn't difficult. You could end up out of pocket if you don't have a sound claim, or if you're chasing a limited company that gets would up, or if the other person just doesn't have any money. In my experience just starting the process works straight away about half of the time as your debtor realises you are serious. If you get a judgement in your favour you still need to enforce it which can be tricky, especially for small amounts. If it's over £600 it is much easier as you can transfer it up to the high court and they have proper bailiffs. Don't waste any time and money on County Court bailiffs though because they are hopeless.
  17. And look what we found in the woods. Just shows that dumping cars is nothing new!
  18. A bit of light rhododendron bashing and some felling to open up a ride.
  19. Another try...
  20. Nice view from the office yesterday, but my hands did go numb with cold for a while!
  21. Only over 15" I believe.

I was looking for exactly the same thing a couple of months ago and ended up deciding on the basic Wolf Apache kit. £115 delivered and does the job nicely.
  23. I don't see what relevance any of that has to your motor insurance, but with insurance companies you just never know what they're going to come up with. I had my van insured with NFU and when I went to them for a quote on a 4x4 as well they said they wouldn't cover it and may not actually be able to cover the van either! I didn't hang around long enough for them to make their mind up and immediately cancelled the van insurance and took my business somewhere else. I found a proper broker who I could have a proper conversation with who took the time to understand my businesses. It ended up saving me money too!
  24. Sorry, looks like I read your post too quickly, and got in into my head that you were talking about bigger stuff.
  25. Sounds like a really good idea to me. Shouldn't CS32 cover some of this though?
