  1. I seriously want one might be a bit over kill for a firewood yard
  2. With us if it fits in chipper it gets chipped if it's stopping there or not
  3. They are good but I've found the side walls to be a bit week but I'm constantly going over kerbs with them. I've done 10000 miles on them probably another 4 left but will change them early due as if you push the side wall it bulges in another place.
  4. Sitting on the sette drinking Red stripe having visitors round . Taking calls for logs they want delivering before Christmas
  5. Just send them a polite email explaining your cost and that you had given them a heavy discount for family and that's your price and your sticking to it. There trying it on working for family always turns out problematic.
  6. Why cover the sides just cover the top . The sun will help but airflow is the key to getting a nice dry log.
  7. There is well priced stuff out there you just got to hunt for it. Cord prices are coming down as there's a stockpile and there still cutting. In the last few days I've been offered cord cut 10 12 18 months ago you can see it's old from the state of it.
  8. If it's mixed together no more than £32 for soft 42/45 for beech £10 a ton to transport it
  9. I do concur the 420 is a yard machine. Been banging 20 inch rings through it today never ceases to make me smile and that takes a lot so it must be good ::
  10. No it's that good the timber comes to it:001_tt2:
  11. To be honest Ben you only really need it on the last couple of foot. The farmi is ideal on stuff up to 10 inch after that it lacks power for splitting on the 6 way. I do rate them prity quick. Tajfun is in a different league mind.
  12. 7family's lives that will never be the same again really feel for the driver of the bin lorry. Days before Christmas sad sad sad
  13. I'm afraid you have to market the firewood more and more as you said oil price& mild weather has not helped. The woods not going out as quick as I expected it to but lorries are coming and we're delivering at a steady rate. Customers are getting more organised and order in advance so the diary a pretty full till mid Jan. Bit of snow & ice would certainly help things along.
  14. Have you got the 12 way knife for yours Ben? When you use the 8way on big stuff do you find yourself resplitting stuff
  15. The only downside is a few splinters
  16. If customers have not ordered by now there will be no calls till jan it's always slow around the 20th till the 3rd. The cold spell there predicting for Jan will get things moving nicely
  17. How many acres was there????
  18. If you need some one to take the firewood grade stuff I'll have it. Had beech delivers in to me in the summer that was the same as you described but the contractor could not sell it for anything other than firewood. Good luck with it ..
  19. £4239. 60
  20. To be honest Barry the local JD dealer bought the new direct collect out to one of the sights we take care of and it's a good mower but it's no where near as good at cutting long wet grass as the Iseki. On paper it might out punch it but the reality is very different. None of the contractors locally have moved over to them yet.
  21. Guy by me with same machine as mine charging £15 a bag to split with processor he does nothing elsa but contract firewood processing.
  22. Ohhhh bloody auto correct. I'm cheery when it's going out the gate
  23. J d are ok but they just copy market leaders like Iseki and Etesia look at there new direct collect mower it's exactly the same as the Iseki. We have a Etesia hydro 80 for sale if your interested will cut larger lawns with ease and still go through a garden gate.
  24. Got mine on a 20 inch bar I reach for it over the 361 or 260 even when in smaller stuff.
  25. Now if you could make it so they were spring loaded you would be on to a winner. One thing you need to take in to mind is these ???!!!! Thing they have a right to nick stuff and if you hurt them in the process they will target you even more. I've seen it happen in the end the guy took a JCB and destroyed there sight and served 3 years for it.
