  1. I never said they were soft I said they're easy grinding, which they are, they chip off easy, unlike say poplar or cherry, which can be a PITA for the smaller grinder.
  2. That's a fair question.
  3. Good pics, not enough grinding on here! however old cedars are really rather easy, even a smallish machine will race through them. Looks a good unit though!
  4. Yep, Kev's got it pretty much nailed.
  5. Well a lot depends on the grinder and the stump, on my rayco 1625 sometimes if you lift the flap above the wheel you can go higher, it's tricky but may work. It may jump around a lot so don't be too greedy.
  6. you could just grind the bottom, fell it like a Beaver! (not joking BTW)
  7. We had a very similar thread a while ago. My answer is; if you need to ask on a forum, don't do it! looks dodgy;
  8. Nasty! One to remember!
  9. I have an ashtray and a desk full of receipts. (And I'm not joking!) Shameful disorganisation:blushing:
  10. Agreed, however it's not a bad saw, but it's gone backwards compared to it's predecessor. It's annoying !!
  11. Yesterday as an experiment we compared my 200 against the 201 through a 12 inch log.... Not even close the 200 won by a country mile. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. I must just say that I sold it through Arbtrader, had lots of genuine enquiries. Good way of reaching the right people; Cheers Steve.
  13. I have absolutely no idea what all that means:001_smile: (I know you love your bits and bobs Simon!) I use my mainline nice and loose Under the flip line so in the (unlikely) event of cutting the flip line you have a back-up. Not all the time mind just if for some reason I feel vulnerable. On a straightforward chog, just the flipline.
  14. Yeah weird one that, couldn't get it right.
  15. I get a similar prob from time to time, check that the system is bled correctly, and keep the tank full, I reckon the bottom of mine is full of crud.
  16. Felix, you're twisting my words:001_smile:
  17. I suppose ( although it's unlikely to happen!) a pic would help.
  18. Well she's gone, I am now officially land rover less! (Likely to stay that way'n'all!) fun but demanding!
  19. I can see how warming up a van for 10 mins in a small housing estate at 4.30am would wind someone up. If you cut that out it might help.
  20. I wear ankle high steel toe-caps all day every day. After many years of wearing arb boots I could take no more torture!
  21. maybe she was on her way somewhere and not coming back that way. Doesn't seem that cheeky really.
  22. Yes, he was the Head of Arborwhatever at Merrist Wood when I went there in the mid 90s, great bloke, good instuctor/educator. Hope he has a long happy retirement.
  23. I don't know about look-a-likes but there is a few of us on here who remind me of this character.
  24. Fair enough. 'tis pretty low.
  25. TBF it just looks like it dropped in there when they trimmed them, maybe it's been forgotten.
