  1. Thing is with signwriting (IMHO) it's not so much the instant work it gets you, it is putting the name in peoples heads, You need some tree surgery done and someone says "you should try Blogg's Tree Surgery" and you think "oh yeah, I've seen their vans! I'll call 'em" Or you see the ad and it rings a bell. There is probably a word in marketing for it like "Semi-subliminal" or summat.
  2. Apart from the op it's a dog centric avatar thread type thingy, excluding my Boar as well, anyway if its a cul de sac print off an explanatory flyer and put them through the letterboxes.
  3. Very true, forgot about that!
  4. Thinking that myself:001_smile:
  5. to a certain extent, although IMO it's due to the economy in general and a glut of college leavers desperate for work pushing down the prices. Compared to 20 years ago at least.
  6. Natch, but the cost of everything else has risen. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. No, fair enough, I've been out here 8 years now and get a bit nostalgic for the old stomping grounds, obviously used to work round those parts, every time I go back the traffic and potholes seem to get worse!
  8. Bandit country!
  9. Well it's a nice job anyway, out of curiosity where in w. Sussex, (Horsham myself)
  10. Isn't it shocking that newbies are earning the same or less than 15 or 20 years ago. And yes tell your mate to take the job.
  11. Very nice! Priced right they'll fly out the door.
  12. I saw that on Springwatch and I thought "that's going to be on AT tomorrow"
  13. With a few pictures there are plenty of guys on here can give some advice, But they do need pics.
  14. And I 'spose it's a valid one:001_smile:, pressure of population dictates I guess. If not there it will be the home of the lesser spotted willow throstler or somesuch. Edit; When you look at the houses they could have been built in the 50s or even 30s, I suppose the Redwoods weren't as impressive then.
  15. What's your point? Are you saying that they should not build houses there because of the trees?
  16. point no 1 (in simplistic terms) Heave is where you take away a tree that was taking lots of water from the soil, result being the ground becomes waterlogged and can raise or "heave" the building, Subsidence is where a trees roots take water from the soil and cause cracks in the soil then the building. This guy came onto the forum for professional advice and to be honest yours was poor and uninformed. I just can't be nice about that sort of thing.
  17. You have got heave and subsidence the wrong way round, the rest of the post is daft, it's a Goat Willow, cut it down poison the stump.
  18. I agree they are not suited to a housing estate. It is obviously a remnant of an old country house where they sold the land for housing, while they are there though surely it's better to top and then if needed do it again in 15 years so everyone can enjoy them while they are safe? I hate all this "Arb Nazi" stuff where it's fell and replant all the time 'cos it's not recommended practice. (Especially when it comes to Pops)
  19. Hi Keith, How about some pics/links 'cos TBH I don't know what these look like.
  20. I have a suspicion that its to do with weight on the axle with a trailer, I reckon Treequip will have the definitive answer though.
  21. I guess he's asked us to judge and criticise, personally.....I don't like it.
  22. Ooh I do love a good chipping video:001_smile: Looks a good machine,
  23. Ok,makes more sense
  24. Don't we all:001_smile:
  25. No biggy:001_smile:
