  1. Mines 2003, don't know if the metal's changed. All I will say is that I change the blades very regularly, and never hire it out. (not suggesting you're slapdash for a moment!) I cannot see how they can be changed without removing the flywheel/changing the bearings, but it's not really that big a deal. TBH I'm a little peeved 'cos we changed the bearings 30hrs ago but there you go......
  2. Thinking about it more like 6.
  3. Maybe 8 (Off the top of my head)
  4. Got a lot of breakdowns myself atm. So I know what you mean.
  5. Can't say as how I've noticed the difference.
  6. I've had 2 break in 10 years, annoying but hardly cheese like.
  7. Ok gotcha! look forward to your new development. Good Luck.
  8. You know what? I now understand what everyone is on about. A line with a carabiner attached to the branch/log end of the lowering rope so he can pull it back after it has been released. Am I right?
  9. Have you noticed the thread's title:001_smile:
  10. Mine's gone as well, just noticed when I changed the blades tonight. Why not buy new? (orange plant etc) Actually, to qualify, what do you mean by "fan"
  11. Big tree, good job! (is it a Thuja?)
  12. Well, looks like a great day, good chance to try out stuff, without the pressure of deadlines. Good pics.
  13. Odd isn't it that 'cos he's someone's mate it's alright. The thread might be "rip of log merchants sell sopping wet rings to unsuspecting public" Just an observation. All about the POV I guess.
  14. Broken Britain in a photo! Have fun!
  15. Stuff happens.
  16. Stroke perhaps?
  17. Fair point, but it's a slippery slope!
  18. I swear to God, when I go on an exotic holiday there will be no Arbtalk, Facebook or any of that. Turn the phone off!
  19. A well edited vid, of a guy who clearly knows his job. Worth a look.
  20. With me it's always worrying about a job,"will I do it on time?" "Will the van/chipper/grinder etc be ok?" 99 times out of a 100 the worries fade with the dawn and the morning dog walk. Nuts really, but I cannot stop myself.
  21. never seems so bad in the morning.
  22. I sometimes get up for a brew, at 3 or 4 ish (tonight 'frinstance) now I'm back to bed for another go at sleep.
  23. All about context, without pics you won't get any meaningful advice from the many experienced blokes on here.
