  4. Don't take it the wrong way but it sure looks like one of your jobs judging by your avatar:thumbup: just made me laugh thats all:001_smile:
  5. so did your dad slam on the brakes deliberately to make him rear end him. that sounds a bit severe I kinda don't blame him though I usually just put on the rear fogs
  6. Small print doesn't come into it if you are properly employed your employers have a duty of care so it's their insurance or if they wriggle out of it it's your employers houses etc
  7. don't they realise most folk just laughing at them:thumbup: whilst being fed up by their antics I must add
  8. I'm just thinking now about the new stihl 4 mix engines that I understand meet new stricter emissions standards but are also more fuel efficient as is the new 200t- Also when the new cabstar came out about 4 years ago the euro 4 standard engine gave better fuel economy than previously though not much -up to about 25mpg from 23- and 100% better comfort (though that wasn't hard) Someone is going to have a go at me soon I know about being stupid or similar but I'm still a bit unsure of the benefits. Maybe the bottom line is- Would you buy a mapped vehicle?
  9. I'm still unsure- maybe I should check this out I still can't understand why if it isn't detrimental to the vehicle then vauxhall in this instance could charge more and just give you a 194bhp as standard- especially if you can get better fuel efficiency/more torque. Does not mapping give you more torque where you need it as opposed to an average user- in other words- If you regularly travel fully loaded doesn't the benefit of mapping help you in low speeds but if you were to sell the vehicle on to someone who just carried cardboard boxes around at speed then the map you have created would not help him. Similarly with your Vauxhall will the mapping make using at low speeds a bit harder/ less user friendly but may give you more torque at say 3000 revs and a higher top speed. Humour me, I'm trying to understand:confused1:
  10. I've had a quick read through this thread and I can't understand why you want to remap a vehicle. Surely the manufacturers know what's best for their vehicles and if Ford could promise better fuel efficiency and more bhp with a remapped engine then they would do it as standard Surely the downside is increased engine wear and reduced engine life. My question really is what advantage do the manufacturers gain by not mapping engines similarly. It would be a selling point- extra mpg+extra performance- a winner!!
  11. i don't look that bad do i:001_tt2:
  12. That must be frustrating Regarding the idea of free delivery on everything - I would encourage customer loyalty and sales by offering delivery on a reducing scale depending on annual spend.
  13. Look at that smile That guy is fantastic:thumbup1:
  14. Quite common in America though I've seen pickup towing a mobile home towing a boat:001_smile: Imagine turning that in the road- mind you them roads sure are big
  15. Are they those hairy caterpillars that cause skin rash?
  16. do you not find the logistics of bringing in a crane a bit of a pain Cancel job due to weather but crane is booked in so ???? works fine when everything goes to plan though Anyone got their own crane and driver? That would be big firm:thumbup1:
  17. frustrating to watch:confused1:
  18. PA6 hand held applicators (salt cellar:biggrin:) COSHH records must be kept- In my experience it's 'all or nothing'- especially if you are asking someone else to do it. Salt is a chemical Salt does leach and would prevent local replanting although I'm not sure how much as I haven't used it. Certainly more than Roundup. Can I ask- If you were to treat say a 2ft diameter sycamore with salt- how much would you need to put on to get guaranteed kill? I ask because there's nothing worse than saying you have treated the stump only to find you are called back the following year to retreat= costs!! I'm not against the use of salt- it would be nice to cut out the 'chemical' companies, but there are considerations if we were to move over to using it on all stumps.
  19. sometimes i think they think they are in some computer game:thumbup:
  20. I haven't not got a clue but I'll put my neck on the line and say you don't definately not want to even consi:001_tt2:der using a crane
  21. Tell me about it but it's the price that dictates where you generally end up. Heaven forbid we are restricted to quoting within 30 miles of base- wouldn't work anyway as we would find a way round it wouldn't we:001_tt2:
  22. this is what i was concerned about In which case maybe roundup is better as it doesn't poison the soil and can be used on say- ivy stumps twisting round a drainpipe or to kill a stump in close proximity to a tree or valued shrub. Think I'll be sticking with roundup:thumbup:
  23. am inexperienced funny how we read things differently
