  1. I'd have to counter this, met him twice, spoken to him several times. Top chap to deal with, any service issues dealt with promptly. Yes I do own a Bryce machine and very happy with it. If I had to buy a knocker again, very likely to be a Bryce again. Not wanting to make this a debate. But the anti Bryce thing seems a reoccurring theme on forums. Can only speak of my own experience. I've never had the pleasure to use a tracked machine, I cannot currently justify the outlay. The agility and ease of use are key advantages. I don't think you can use them to pull a net tight like a tractor, hence seldom fitted with a pro fencer or quick fencer. I maybe wrong. I have seen protech and vector machines for sale more often on the secondhand market.
  2. I assume Mick did it at the right time of year.
  3. I don't know the full info. New heavy trucks are not allowed alloy fuel tanks due to corrosion. I know this because a haulier I work for couldn't have ally tank on a new scania 8 wheeler. Looking long term it might be worth not getting alloy, incase the regs extend and eventually include unimogs. I doubt it will for a long time and may not affect older vehicles
  4. I went to get some horse poo for a prank. I asked what the bedding was and it was biomass pellets!
  5. That means no eBay either, last I knew. I'm sure it's a stipulation you have to offer Paypal.
  6. Elm seems to grow for upto 20yrs then DED gets it then it regenerates, causing the multi stems. I chop a lot for firewood. It's standing seasoned wood if you fell it at the right time, too early and its waterlogged.
  7. Quiet Sunday Jon? Nothing kicking off in the hood? No new ideas. You could do a jesses diets from fast show for us. "Today I iz mostly been eating/drinking ______."
  8. It is hugely variable, it might be worth contacting a European haulier. If they don't do Cyprus, in their contact base they maybe able to sort it.
  9. Did the dogs not get a say in which vehicle they preferred. THATS not right is it. Maybe they like landROVER! Thanks
  10. Just realised he is called Mick (Dundee?). Ask him when he was born? "In the summertime"
  11. Well done to you, keeping going. With a bit of thought for personal use hydro's can be adapted relatively easy. I've used them with horticultural caning machines built on them. You operate them from behind as you walk along. A bit more power than normal to compensate for transmission losses is a must I think. 25hp instead of 20 etc.
  12. Yes the bridge could've had smoothly does it emblazoned across it.
  13. Walkabout? Aboriginal?
  14. You can, but seldom have I seen it. Willow is fizzing with rooting hormone naturally.
  15. Best asking rob d he is on here. I havnt seen one for a while. I know he has lots if ideas and good intentions But like many, not enough time to fulfill them.
  16. Lots of valid points raised. I dont have kids. I see it from all angles. Two weeks holiday a year shouldn't be a problem. What happens is you get mumps or chickenpox. 2 weeks off. Never heard anyone say they failed school due to two weeks of illness. If the authorities were that concerned they would take back 10 days holidays from the months off education gets every year. Incooperate them back into school term time. If they did that we would have teachers strikes again. I was intelligent enough at school but not interested. It didn't suit me well at all. I always thought why should we have homework? if we didn't achieve the nessasary in school time we were being failed. Your childhood/family time is 10 or so years you will never get again. Crucial formative years which seem to get neglected in too many families these days
  17. Ever heard of a free christening, funeral or wedding service? Business as usual then, if they want it cheaper they will do the legwork accordingly. Guilt trips don't affect me anymore.
  18. Local work is a real timesaver, as mentioned above if you want to get in there with regular work reactive work needs to be less of a sting. I'd just drop a contact card in. Chat if they are amiable. Keep it casual, maybe drop a name of someone they know that you know, then if they lose the card they can still get in touch.
  19. The meter I borrow eats the pp3 batteries as well.
  20. I have never seen a tirfor. But watched a film. THE WALK about a nutty Frenchman who walked a tightrope between the original World Trade Center towers in 1974. I'm sure he used one in the film. Not a film I would normally choose to watch, it killed boredom on the plane yesterday.
  21. Just got an email from toolstation Draper moisture meter £12.62 I realise it may not be want many want. They do free delivery over £10
  22. The tensioners are only rated to a few hundred kg. not tons. I use Hayes ones and never felt like they were ever near failing.
  23. Bit of a derail, I went into a library today and one of the promoted books was called "stacking wood" I picked it up. It only had a picture of wood stacks on every page. No text! I put it back, what is the point? I assume they take credit for it being art.
  24. Second that I'm aware of the other being vanawatu. Good effort by all involved. It's probably one of the last things people think of doing, but is a primary relief effort before other things happen.
  25. I was thinking about the physique and fitness the other day. First off I'm no Greek Demi god statue. I never have been able to run. I can swim for well over an hour. I then get bored and ache. I have worked with physique boys that are always at the gym. But I can outdo many if not all of them in the daily grind. It's often just bulge building and six pack toning. Like you I would like to be fitter, more endurance etc. However, I've seen keen fitness fanatics bodies fail. Joints replaced. Muscle problems. So on I'm only going to live to be 70-80 if I do well. I dont overeat, do drugs, or smoke, neither have I ever over indulged alcohol. This life is precious. I don't want to spend time wearing my body out. I'd rather do productive achievements or enjoy life. Whilst I admire your goals Steve. It's not for me, it's a huge commitment that if you have to keep up. To maintain the results. Would hate to get through life and think id spent % working, sleeping, etc and exercising being high up on the list. Sorry for the bum note and I wish you well with it.
