  1. Good Morning All Sorry to those who feel they have had bad experience with our product. As we have said before we are not without our faults but we do endeavour to go the extra mile to make sure we achieve customer satisfaction. The Först brand has come a hugely long way in 4 years and we are constantly improving in every area of the company to be even better! The brand success can be seen in the exceptional numbers now working across the UK and Europe, we will absolutely not waiver from our vision statement which reads ‘To become the industries preferred choice of Arboricultural machinery’ and we have the team and grit to make this a reality! Our continued success is in developing and building the best machinery for the industry and we will continue to do this! We will do what we need to do to satisfy those who have issues and will also add that we have a huge amount of very satisfied customers out there working Först product hard every day. Unfortunately for us good news doesn't travel as fast as negative but we can assure you that those with positive experience far far outweigh those with negative! Thanks again to all of our customers and we welcome everyone to come and meet us at the Arbshow on th 12th and 13th May. We look forward to seeing you all!
  2. Service have tried to call you again a couple of times today Dean but you are obviously a busy man. Replacement bearings have previously been supplied for yours but they have never been fitted. However we want to help you out so please call us back on 01264 721790 when you get a couple of minutes.
  3. Morning MLS Service will be calling you this morning about this. Don't worry we'll get you sorted.
  4. Afternoon all One of our guys will call you shortly Simon – it sounds like you have some things we need to address. Your 3 year warranty is there to cover you, and with the thousands of happy users we have out there we know we can most definitely get it right for you. if you need something bigger we can show you that too. Dean, if the machine you are talking about is one of the top bar machines I think it is, then we did supply new upgrade bearings for that machine when we changed to the steel bearings back in the early days of Först. If you have a failed cast rear bearing then the steel replacements supplied were obviously never fitted. Leave it with us. We will call you about this tomorrow. In answer to your question Steve – we aim to get better all the time! Quality most certainly isn’t going down! We will happily bring out a machine for you to try and put you in touch with many happy customers who swear by the product. We will be the first to admit that we do have issues sometimes but we do also go the extra mile to sort them out. We will also welcome anyone to come and have a look at our product facility in Hampshire – the Först brand has come a hugely long way in the 4 years it’s been on the market and we have some exciting new stuff in the pipeline. Thanks to all our customers and we look forward to welcoming many more!
  5. Afternoon Simon Thanks for your call into our service department this morning regarding these issues. We will most certainly rectify these for you and will be going back up the line to establish how and why this happened as it is most certainly not standard procedure. You can be assured your warranty is there to cover you, and you can also be assured that as a company we do not put our heads in the sand, we are constantly looking for ways to improve and develop the best machines for the industry. Ultimately the Forst brand exists because of our passion to build the best performing machine for you; arborists and tree surgeons across Europe. The brand has come a hugely long way in a short space of time with many many happy users out there. We are the first to admit we have had some issues along the way, but what we will do however is sort them out. Please all come and see us at the APF for a beer and find out about some of the innovations on the drawing board for the industry! Thanks again to ALL of our customers out there - we love this industry!
  6. Hello Marksquirrell You should have got a message from us yesterday. There is clearly something awry with the machine you are using as strong in feed is one of the things users normally love about the Forst! please get in touch with out service department on 01264 721790 or ping us an email at [email protected] and we'll make sure you are fixed. Thanks Forst
  7. Good Morning QuattroKev We have looked at this machines history and it was indeed traded for a new machine simply as the customer likes to keep his fleet new, not due to machine issues. Your area representative will be calling you today and can give you the details of the previous owner so you can discuss with him if you wish. We will certainly get our service department to call you to discuss and rectify any other issues you are experiencing. Please be assured that Redwood Global is passionate about customer support and will ensure you are supported and backed all the way. Thank you to you and all our customers for your custom!
  8. Yes this is their second deployment, below is the latest update received yesterday: Alongside the ongoing clearance work at the San Jose Central School, the team have been training carefully selected local volunteers in safe chainsaw handling and basic arborist skills. In a country that experiences around 20 typhoons a year, the Philippine people are all too familiar with the problems and dangers caused by windblown trees and the local government is fully behind the DART training and resilience initiative. Our aim is to leave a legacy of DART's work in San Jose. On conclusion of their training programme, the locally trained volunteers will in turn train others in their community. Another aspect of the team's 'resilience building' work has been to identify and manage trees that represent an obvious danger in the future; pruning back high risk trees in the school grounds, especially those that are adjacent to, or overhanging, classrooms. Having almost concluded clearance work at San Jose Central School and having made a financial donation to the Principal Mrs Endino and Chair of the PTA Dr Perez, the team are assisting them in the procurement of building materials and local volunteers to help repair and re-roof the damaged classrooms. Tomorrow they move to St Jose Technical High School to begin work on the town's secondary school. The team are all well and in good spirits; generally overwhelmed by the gratitude of the local community for the work they're doing. In turn we're very grateful for your continued support towards the DART project. psa some photos of the team meeting local officials and most importantly, the kids!
  9. [xfloat=left]http://www.arbtalk.co.uk/images/dart.jpg[/xfloat]The DART lads are at it again – this time in Northern Samar in the Philippines, sacrificing their Christmas break to help humanity and get children back to school. This honorable team of 4 are working hard purely for the good of others, some of them are self-employed arborists who won’t be earning for at least two weeks whilst they put others first. DART has many excellent volunteers on the books but the team in Northern Samar right now is Gary Bailey, Jimmy Enticknap-Green, Graham Beer and Jono Finlow. Först and Redwood Global are sponsoring the cause along with DART’s other corporate sponsors, Glendale Managed Services, Makita UK and Stein Products Ltd. Först / Redwood Global are proud to sponsor the excellent cause, and support the team including Jimmy Enticknap-Green a former Redwood Global employee and now the owner of his own Tree Surgery Company in Hampshire. 03/01/16 First update from our team in ‪#‎NorthernSamar‬: The DART team arrived safely in San Jose early on the 2nd Jan and got straight to work. The weather is reportedly very hot, but the team are ‘on task’ and in good spirits. As anticipated, the Mayor’s first priority was to make the Central School safe from windblown tree damage and hanging branches so that the construction of temporary learning spaces can begin. Schools across the region are due to open on the 4th, although it’s not yet clear to what extent many of them will be able to function. Getting children back to school after events such as these is vitally important. Apart from the obvious importance of continuing their education, school represents a return to normal routines for children whose lives at home may have been, quite literally, turned upside down by the typhoon. There are no other international ‪#‎NGOs‬ working in the area, but the DART team is coordinating with the local government and Philippines ‪#‎Rotary‬ organisations who are continuing to deliver aid supplies from further south in Leyte, some 5 to 8 hours drive from San Jose. 01/01/16 Just over two weeks ago, ‪#‎typhoonMELOR‬ (known locally as ‪#‎NONA‬) swept across the central Philippines with winds gusting in excess of 165kph. Three quarters of a million people were evacuated, 100,000 homes destroyed, 181,000 damaged and 290,000 people continue to receive shelter and food aid. Across the path of the typhoon, 42 people are known to have lost their lives with many others missing or injured. Some 39 health facilities have been damaged and 420 schools. The ‪#‎Government‬’s latest assessment is that 950 classrooms have been destroyed and 1420 damaged. On New Year’s Eve, in response to a direct request from the municipal mayor of San Jose, DART International deployed a 4 man team to one of the worst affected regions in ‪#‎NorthernSamar‬. In addition to delivering specialist advice and assistance, the team will offer training to help the local community build resilience against future typhoon events. The Charity would like to thank its ‪#‎volunteers‬ and ‪#‎sponsors‬ from the‪#‎UKArborist‬ Industry for their continued support and generosity, especially, Stein Products Limited, Glendale Managed Services, Makita UK and Forst.
  10. Good Morning In the above instance incorrect parts were fitted to the machine which caused the failure. These were not parts supplied by Redwood but by a third party. However Redwood are working with the good customer to help rectify this issue and have loaned him a machine to keep him working whilst the repair is carried out. We are a company loyal to our customers and will go the extra mile to help
  11. Good Afternoon all From the Redwood / Först perspective we would add that we have, and always will stand by our products and in this situation the good customer Mr Skyhigh Arb was never left alone. Understandably he was frustrated but this was an exceptionally unusual situation he was experiencing which was very hard to pin down. We paid a number visits to the client in order to establish the issues he was experiencing but they appeared to be intermittent and the machine would work fine when we were present. We will always rectify an issue if there is one, and have offered to supply tie over machines in this instance. However we can confirm that Mr Skyhigh Arb has now been fully satisfied and we have the machine in our yard testing it to try and establish the issue. As many of our customers will testify Redwood will go the extra mile to ensure our customers are satisfied and in this particular situation it was very frustrating for the customer and for Redwood. Under no circumstances has Redwood ever separated themselves from the issues the customer experienced. In the 2.5 years Först has been on the market a staggering number of products have been sold and there are many hundred satisfied customers out there who are putting the machines to good use every day. We understand that a premium service is as important to you as the machine itself which is why we offer the 3 year comprehensive warranty which we will stand by. On a positive note there are some exciting developments happening here in the Först development department, and the next to show its head very shortly is the outstanding new ‘Först XR8 Traxion’ This is a 50hp, 8” x 10” capacity tracked embankment machine for negotiating banks up to 35 degrees. This machine has been in development for many months and we are pleased to announce its arrival soon! It’s powerful, fast and has unbelievable torque and ability on the bank side. Thanks again to all our excellent customers; we are as passionate about this industry as you are! The Först team
  12. Hello Jeanesy - Machines built after July 2014 will have the clear fuel tank. let us know if you have any further questions Thanks
  13. Good Afternoon all We would just like to put right the previous comment posted by another wood chipper supplier. Kubota do give a warranty on engines in Först machines. The same 2 year Kubota warranty is given with a Först machine as it is in any other machine with this engine. We would also like to confirm that the axles on the ST6 machine are rated to 1350kg and the axles on ST8 are rated to 1500kg. These are heavy duty wheel and axle combinations which well exceed what is required for the weight of the machine. We can also confirm there were a number of early Först machines with a different axle and tyre combination, some of which failed. These have all been up graded under warranty. As many excellent customers on this forum will testify, we will stand by our brand and by you as customers who have put your trust in us. We won't let you down! We would also like to make the following clear to help clients understand what may appear as a confusing situation: The Först machine isn't a 'fake' Jensen! Redwood Global would still be the sole Jensen agent today if we wanted to be. Instead we chose of our own will to design, build and put to market a machine which we could see the industry needed. The industry needed a robust, tough, fast machine with a backup, support and warranty unmatched in the industry at a sensible price. That is exactly what we delivered and as a result have sold volumes of machines far in excess of what the company ever achieved before. As a result Jensen quite understandably terminated the relationship with Redwood and set up a number of smaller dealers around the UK. An agreement Redwood is very happy with. Redwood will never slate the Jensen product and has no need to do so. Jensen is a good machine and Redwood still has many Jensen’s on its hire fleet. However the Först machine is a culmination of the company's knowledge and experience of the industry, and is based on a clear understanding of what you as tree surgeons and contractors need from quality, performance and back up perspectives. Redwood sells direct to clients across the UK and services though a national network of support agents. As a new machine to the market the brand did have some teething issues and we own those 100%. Our response to those is to sort them out fast, and to offer a no quibble back up and support and to continue to listen to the market to develop and offer the best product on the market. We would welcome anyone to visit our production facility in Andover to see for yourself the scale at which we operate and to experience the exceptional service we offer. With millions of pounds worth of machinery and spare parts for both Först and Jensen in stock, with over 33,000 square foot of production and service facility we are certainly one of the most progressive companies in the industry. Thanks again to all our customers, and a big welcome to anyone who haven’t tried Först yet – we look forward to welcoming you, it’s a great industry and we share your passion! The Först Team
  14. Afternoon Peter unfortunately there isn't a RAL number for Jensen orange, it is their own mix, we do have some pots on the shelf if you need some. 01264 721790.
