  1. Lend it to military for a weekend of exercises then level off with 360
  2. This is a facinating scenario to those of us not involved. As it's going the legal route I would suggest renaming the people defendant, plaintiff or whatever and a members only thread. People don't appreciate their dirty laundry in public. However I'm very interested in the outcome as it's going to make business awkward for them and the op predicament is interesting. The trees where saplings if you use forestry terms!
  3. :thumbup:It does make sense, much tree work is restrictive with location etc. Nice effective thinking Johny
  4. Good one. How about a PDF file that dealers can print themselves then display on their counter. If I see something of interest I take a photo with my phone(saves trees) then deal with it later.
  5. I have used a bcs valiant and vithar on a tree nursery since 2002 &2004 respectively. 84hp and 90+ for the vithar. As mentioned in this thread and warned by myself in other threads on here before, the linkage and PTO geometry are not compatible with many pieces of equipment. Both these tractors have air con cabs. Both have had implements smash back windows. PTO guards disintegrated due to sharp angles short length shaft size required. The dashboards are floppy weak. The transmissions are very compact and get very hot between the legs. The valient is hooked upto a damcon 50 tree lifter in the winter and rarely gets stuck. It will pull itself out belly deep mud and this is on single standard tyres not the flotations shown in some of the pictures here. Stocks supplied duals for it for cultivation and planting works. Lots of grunt in a narrow working width, we have had them tilted sideways to 45 degrees or more and never put one on its side. The problem is keeping seated!
  6. I don't know the issue concerned here. I am told that a teaspoon of vinegar in bitches drinking water stops the female urine burn patch problem!
  7. Popular in America maybe, but cringy over here from the videos I've seen.
  8. glad to see the reviews still been submitted. Nice one.
  9. I had an ebay issue where the seller changed the listing. The info was inaccurate, I told the seller and they changed the listing. They relisted an identical item with adjusted wording. They didn't however sort it out with me and when I took it up with ebay all they could see was the revised listing, it was like dealing with a robot or computer. Yes/no black/white So watch out, store a copy if the original listing. Glad you are sorted with this one Steve.
  10. I use a rytec 1.1 or 1.2 m on an iseki 21hp. If its long and matted it struggles. Its fine on the shorter grass and much quicker and more pleasurable than strimming. A design shortfall on the rytec for me is the headstock puts the mower far away from the rear of this tractor making it longer to transport and light on steering.
  11. I don't get why such difficult people list stuff on ebay:thumbdown: PS I was looking at a website on wood recently where you Mr Skittle man was an enormous wood sample contributor. Good Man:thumbup1: The web world is a village.
  12. You'll be lucky. We did have one doing the rounds courtesy of hamadryads library lend. Then it disappeared before I got it My local library has one in the reference section. But you can only read it in the library, no take out. Library hours are work hours.
  13. I use a multione. It's a handy machine, I have never used an avant. The multione is a well thought out machine in many respects, personally I wouldn't buy one because I feel some components are under engineered such as the headstock hitch and the plastic floppy steering wheel dash arrangement. and some of the build quality could be better in design. I could be biased as I tend to use heavier duty equipment. As someone once said to me "It's Italian, they have great ideas but don't seem to finish them"
  14. Nice real world testing feedback Steve.
  15. Whilst I hate to see good timber wasted I think the haulage will be too expensive to make it worthwhile. Do you know that the trees likely have a high heartwood ratio? I would be meanwhile posting its availability for others on here. As carting in a tipper that distance thers going to be alot of airspace. Assuming you get it milled on the job, hauling milled timber will be more efficient.
  16. Very good price, if you where selling him the awkward bits that you can't process with a machine it would still be a good price. It's the value of wood mentality. It's either worth it's weight in gold or it's junk free to a good home. Depends which way the transaction is going.
  17. A haulier I used to drive for used the jet garage locally having an account plus a reward scheme back then. I don't know how good it is now by comparison to other schemes. He saved a bit on buying in bulk back then and got treats every so often.
  18. I tried back in April to do it, purely to organise my paperwork better. Applied with UK fuels. We don't have a landline(you need to be at home to use one of these!) They required one so after discussing it with the person on the telephone we gave my parents number and they said they wouldn't use it. Uk fuels then rang it to verify it was a real number. We chucked it, as we were aiming for less hassle and have dealt with banks etc over the phone like this before and it ends up being a headachce of unreasonableness. This is my experience, probably won't affect others. Like the age of the computer was going to be almost paperless, what should be simpler is often more time consuming.
  19. It worked really well. I also cut top off an ibc cube filled it to the top almost with woodchip. A sheet of glass over the top and had a very hot propagator. That needs a layer if sand to diffuse it another time. Back to the raised bed, had very early potatoes about the time jersey royals arrived in the shops. Salads went well. Then I run out if time. Now it's a mass of weeds. It does work very well if you put the effort in and have the time.
  20. When I was a lad we had David Prowse as the Green X code man For pedestrians. Stop..Look..Listen. But after a couple of decades of dumbing down and "My rights" campaigns. Its do as you like let everyone go round YOU. Im in the middle of holiday relief HGV driving and get cut up alot even on the relatively quiet roads of East Yorkshire. Last week a muppet on a moped with pillion on board(No L plate, which he should of had instead of passenger) attempted to overtake on the left on a roundabout with only one lane on that section. Skidded and nearly lost it on the lose gravel on the unused chevron marked area. Succeeded in getting past me then did the same manouvre when he got to a 3 lane approach roundabout, took the left side all the way round carving everyone up. Both roundabouts had clear lane arrow markings. This is just one category. Unroadworthy Horses and ignorant riders cyclists obsessed with performance and the 3 inches of tarmac in front of them, no care for the things that could kill them around them. Lout cyclists with no road sense. Motorbikes desperate to be at the front of everything. Selfish idiots in cars, vans. We all make errors of judgement on occasion, just put hand up and apologise and get on . But many people are just self aware, is it electronic devices? sat navs, phones, complex in car entertainment systems. Bicycles speed/time devices. I feel rude to be holding people up or hindering their progress, whether on foot, bike, tractor or truck. Think of others Pull over, give way, keep out the way. Then everyone will get there quicker and safer. But nah!! ME ME ME!
  21. Just read all this thread what a load of politics. It started with trimming a hedge then ended up been a social/political handbag fight. I'm not into Harry potter at all. But I'm glad that someone keeps what is often a neglect hedge species under control. Leylandii can make a brilliant hedge if correctly managed, however I do question if that hedge is a bit to high? Surely next to the highway it only needs to be double decker height? Unless I'm not scaling it right.
  22. I bought a second hand 12v makita off ebay and wired a cord into it with croc clips and run it off tractor or van battery. Cost £25
  23. Good on those who do take on youngsters, we are now a society that pushes education and discourages work through aloofness and red tape. For many work is distasteful because they don't get it until in their 20s and its alien to them.
  24. There is reasons for replacing with with a purpose made tipper. 1. Loss of volume 2. The pickup trays have wheel arches in them which would hinder flow of tipped material 3. Tailgate fouling issues on towball and other geometry issues. 4.Dropsides are very handy. I know the look is utilitarian but the ozzie/kiwi style flatbed is far more efficient in many ways. You just need to spend a bit to make it look quality instead of a bodge.
  25. Only disadvantage of steel I'm aware of is . Lightning and electric conduction. It's a freak occurrence but it does happen. The injuries are horrendous melted boots and burned feet, how would you take yours off?
