  1. The nights are fair drawing in...... Got this cheap wee usb rechargeable headlamp on aliexpress for £7something +tax. I've got a better one, but for the money it seems really good. More of a spot beam than a flood, so more suited to general use than lying under a vehicle https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005950929989.html
  2. Recently I had a couple days work to do about 2hrs drive away. That's 2hrs if you did it first thing in the morning, before the tourists wake up. I took the hammock and other camping gear to sleep the night in the van, but in the end the very nice folks there gave us the keys to a 1 bed cottage, with a plate of food in the fridge!
  3. Meanwhile in Paisley......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7neSwWbhtQ
  4. Don't know if he's on the books or not? If self employed, he might be worse off than a minimum wage job where you get holiday pay, clothing, training etc etc
  5. ? Baby formula will sometimes have the big security tags on, it's a popular item to lift, costs the same as a bottle of whisky I imagine the junkies prefer the rustic sourdough to the mothers pride plain loaf
  6. I'd give you a fiver if you made us a few waffles on it!
  7. A popular thing round here now is the polycrubs, either "genuine" from the original company, or another firm, or people make their own. The hoops are normally plastic pipe from the fish farms, about 4"-5" diameter. With wooden rails and polycarbonate sheeting. They seem pretty stromproof but they aren't cheap. Maybe 2-3 times the price of a similar size poly tunnel?
  8. The "40v" will be a 36v system A 36v battery fully charged is normally 42v, and around 32v discharged
  9. The husqy you've linked is more the homeowner grade, they do professional tools and batteries too. I much prefer battery to petrol.
  10. Get a decent battery hedge cutter (normal and long reach) and backpack or belt battery. Low vibes, low noise, zero fumes in your face, cheaper to run, refuel at home, lightweight with the separate battery.
  11. I'm not sure if they're effective, they're basically just padded gloves. Hand arm vibration - Gloves and warm clothing WWW.HSE.GOV.UK
  12. Found this on google streetview, near Doncaster and the A1M https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.6010432,-1.2724783,3a,75y,22.2h,89.49t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sBCwwUzonZT-eyqbZrJadow!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DBCwwUzonZT-eyqbZrJadow%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D22.203860748543747%26pitch%3D0.5136389920751441%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?hl=en-GB&coh=205410&entry=ttu

  13. The next step is to add urine to the compost (if you're not already using it in the garden) Further steps include building a compost toilet, to recycle jobbies and sawdust.
  14. From this I deduce you need to get some hens! Fresher eggs than you'll get in the shops, happier hens than commercial free range, and they get rid of your food waste!
  15. Here you go

    Holzfformer G372XP

I bought a 365 x-torq just before they stopped selling them in this country so I'm not needing to buy one anyway! But if I was I would go for the grey import 372. I've never seen one of the chinese copies in real life. I wonder which would be better suited and longer lived for someone living up in the hills cutting their own firewood, an autotune or chinese copy? If they were able to buy a brand new genuine 365/372 it would last decades, without ever going near a dealership.

The flip side of that is Husqvarna designed a great saw in the 372xp, but have decided to no longer sell in in UK/Europe/US (although you can get it via a grey import) I don't want an autotune chainsaw - but I don't really want a cheap imitation either!
  18. Not used it much yet but got a 12v oil pump for about a tenner in lidl a while back. Maybe more suited to small tanks as I think it was quite slow I once used an old 240v pond pump for diesel. No idea where that went, maybe it's buried in a shed somewhere, or maybe somebody borrowed it
  19. Strimmer line is ok on new bracken growth but at this point in the year you'd want a metal blade. Me being sceptical if someone tells you a job will "only take you" x amount of time then double it lol
  20. Good to see he's still making videos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5MfL1XmaOA
  21. Don't know what the link is. I think the cars are fine, the tools are shite. JCB put their name to a range of cheap tools etc too
  22. That was their postbox for the "big hoose"
  23. Get enough of them and you have a gang!
  24. Nice trip away up the north west to cut a load of hardwood for a couple of days
  25. Will they play a cover of his favourite song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X53ZSxkQ3Ho
