  1. The Balfor one is good, well made, plenty of steel in it. They have changed the models about now, and the newer ones have more guards Logging Saw Benches – Balfor WWW.BALFOR-FIREWOOD.COM
  2. Don't know the machine, but from the manual: "If the engine or the battery are out of order, the grass-catcher can be opened manually: insert the key and sit on the driver's seat. In this way the hydraulic valve is relieved. Push the button to open the grasscatcher (fig, 5, n. 13) and open the grass-catcher manually. The battery is located under the grasscatcher in the rear part of the machine (fig. 33, A). If it is out of order, the battery can be removed and recharged." http://www.grilloagrigarden.co.uk/operators_manual/fd450
  3. We use a bit of smokeless in the stove overnight, it makes a huge difference to the temperature of the house, and is a hell of a lot cheaper than electricity.
  4. 20 minutes long, here's a video on a guy who fixes up written off teslas, much to their annoyance
  5. Lightweight round mouth shovel, £4.49 + vat Rutland Contrators Tools C/s Round Shovel Hardwood Shaft | Zoro UK WWW.ZORO.CO.UK Rutland Contrators Tools - C/s Round Shovel Hardwood Shaft available at www.zoro.co.uk - UK's Leading Supplier of DIY... Free delivery if you spend x amount
  6. It won't offer you much of a tax bonus, but for more local journeys have a look at electric bicycles. With the speed possible, it might not be much slower than driving
  7. I've only ever seen them in photos, I can't imagine they're anywhere as strong as a shipping container? And won't have the same resale value? Have you got the space to get a lorry round into the garden? If so, get a normal get container on a hiab?
  8. Have never tried the Makita 4t, but the 35cc Honda 4t has been great for me, using 2.7mm square line or various metal blades. I would much rather use the Honda with a metal blade than a bigger 2 stroke.
  9. The key thing about mud is, you have to know when you're past the point of no return, and you should call it quits!
  10. Haven't got a sccobies, there's a whole fleet of hydrogen busses, council vehicles etc I was talking to someone the other week, he works off shore (abroad) and was saying they're developing deep-sea machines to mine battery materials from a few miles down on the seabed
  11. I think the problem with electric cars is, there isn't enough raw materials on planet earth to make enough batteries. Aberdeen has 2 hydrogen filling stations
  12. I would love to take one for a spin down the road (ideally in summer!)
  13. "The Husqvarna 535iRX/535iRXT brushcutters are available from February 2020 at Husqvarna authorised dealers and are priced: 535iRX (£519.00) and 535iRXT (£599.00)" I hope there'll be a good discount!
  14. I do find the Husqvarna model numbers a bit confusing, doesn't help they have changed some about! It looks like the new battery stimmers/brushcutters in this country will be 535iRX and 535iRXT Husqvarna launch new Pro battery brushcutters – the Husqvarna 535iRX and 535iRXT WWW.PITCHCARE.COM Husqvarna have announced the launch of two new powerful battery-powered brushcutters which will raise the bar for...
  15. An interesting bit of kit is the sunamp thermal battery, works like a gel handwarmer Sunamp Heat Batteries & Thermal Energy Storage WWW.SUNAMP.COM Sunamp’s unrivalled Heat Battery technology delivers market leading thermal energy storage to homes, businesses and... Not sure if the money side works in it's favour though. There's someone I do work for, has a large solar panel array and a tesla battery, at times he can be totally self sufficient in electricity, his main source of heating is oil. (he gets the good feed in tariff) We live in an old stone house with no central heating and little insulation. Would like to put in central heating, but can't decide which route to go down, we don't have the funds to gut the place. I would love solar pv, there's plenty of south facing space to have a simple ground mounted array here but the last time I looked the feed in tariff has been reduced to virtually nothing, meaning the panels might struggle to pay themselves back?
  16. Not sure if this is "worthy of a mention" or not, 3/4" socket set, £52 delivered from ebay. Can't imagine the ratchet will last long, but for me this set will only get used a few times a year. The thing weighs about 15kg!
  17. Highest speed recorded so far on the speedo is 37.5mph, down a fookin big hill. The problem is you run out of gears on the bike, your legs are spinning round madly, not really doing anything.
  18. It's the location. If it was in a big open field that had decent access for a large vehicle, there's plenty of people that would fell it for free, especially if they didn't have to deal with the brash.
  19. I imagine it's like trying to tow a parachute! Always fancied getting a wee trailer, need to keep an eye out for a 2nd hand one, I bet the ebike motor would barely feel it on the flat
  20. Just read there's a new husqy battery brushcutter coming out "in 2020" Here's a video from Sweden, if you go into the settings you can select English subtitles Looks a decent enough machine, it has the motor at the battery end, supposedly making it more rugged, and apparently matches with a 35cc petrol machine. Would be interesting to know a date when it will be available in this country, and a price!
  21. Is there any life left in them? Give them away for re-use?
  22. They said that about getting married
  23. They're nice and airy in the summer
  24. Just looked it up, HMRC mileage rates are calculated at 45p/mile, (and I don't actually own a car, got a couple of vans) DIY electric bike kit cost about £460 earlier in the year. And today have now gone over the 1000 mile mark, which means that it's now free right
  25. Also, I wonder if there's any modifications that could be done to the machine to help with the dust? Length of pipe? Blower fan? Rubber flap? etc
