  2. A 560 will rev to a little over 14,000 and is monitored by the AT unit. That maximum RPM is no different than most pro 60cc saws on the market! I think people remember the 242XP and 346XP and it has stuck as ALL Husqvarnas rev like mad! Modern saws burn a lot less fuel, less fuel means less oil and therefore bearing manufacturers and oil manufacturers have a job to do to ensure these areas are working well. Popping down to the garden centre and sticking some red shyte in your spanking 560 isn't the best idea. I love the comment "End Off" as if it was some sort of decisive and final comment to beat all and comes from a higher being than us mere mortals. I had a boss that liked the "End Off" comment and he was a twat and not half as smart as he like to think he was PS - not calling the fella that used the comment a twat as I don't know him!
  3. Not a problem at all, keep doing what works for you and guess using old fuel is saving you having to spend out £££ on fresh fuel. The BP document does say two weeks for fuel to reside in equipment and to use beyond that with caution but keep doing what you are happy with.
  4. Motomix and Aspen will be fine within the guidelines and shelf life of the fuel!
  5. People have just heard of Stihl a lot more. Just need to look at motorsport on TV to see the name and then everyone believes that they are the best because they have heard of them. I believe the phenomena is called "Fake News"
  6. I have done a number of seized MS880/088s in my time and when asked if they empty the tank after using the saw because of infrequent use, most just stare at you blankly and ask why. A saw will be more likely to seize if run under heavy load for prolonged use through larger timber!

  9. I was commenting more on stating that it is fine to run a saw on old fuel and not stating the parameters of the actual test. I reckon if you stuck a 20" bar on the 390 and did half an hour continuous ringing up of 2' timber with old fuel, it wouldn't last but it is always the owners choice what they do!

Damn good advice, when people take you up on it, they can give me a call and I will rebuild the top end for them - will keep me in business I don't know how much you cut, the size of the wood, the length of time the saw was under full load, the bar length, the tune of the saw, how rich in oil the initial fuel was, what your fuel is......I use old fuel in my lawnmower! Your choice though.
  11. When you do the cap up, the air the cap traps when done up compresses the fluid in the tank, same on every tank. If the breather fitted is two way, it will leak a little. I don't know too much about this machine or the breather fitted though.
  12. And that is what we pay our taxes for! A local guy had a break in at his yard, a few hundred grands worth of tractor units and trailers there but didn't get pinched, he interrupted them, got the whole thing on video and zero interest from the local police. Sorry to hear of your issues, never good and not made easier by substandard police service - think they should slap "To Serve and Protect" on the side of the police cars, it may remind them what they are there for!
  13. Interesting times, I still don't get this Crypto thing.....well I do get how it works and what it is for but the increase in value reminds me of the Dot Com boom....and bust. Just don't invest all your savings in it....just saying!
  14. Yes it does but is a different design and is less likely to come off. The early 201s were utter shyte and need a good going over to shake them up and get them going. Not that expensive but worth doing.
  15. You won't see the impulse line from taking the carb off - see my original post .....it is UNDER the air box and comes out of the top cover that is part of the fuel tank and locates to the bottom of the air box.

  17. And that is why I asked the question - most likely the impulse line has been pulled off (tube just under the air box on the starter side) but is possible you have split or dislodged the manifold. Check it out, don't be tempted to run it, you will kill it!

  19. Have answered the PM, a few possible faults and I would like to add that I don't believe my porting may have caused this
  20. Was the idle OK directly after the drop? Have you changed the carb settings since dropping it? If you take the air filter off, is the choke fully open with the choke in the OFF position?

  22. As he says, no carb condition will cause a backfire as the backfire is caused by the saw firing once the piston has cleared TDC. Husqvarna coils can be a bit weird with how they are set with two of the metal laminates being close to the coil and the other being a fair way from the coil. Without checking, the 372 lower two should be close and set to the magnet and the upper one should be a way off the coil. Even if this was out, it would cause an uneven idle but very unlikely to cause a backfire.

  25. Sounds like the coil is buggered if the flywheel key is intact and the flywheel and gap are OK. I tend to swerve AM coils as they are hit and miss! It doesn't sound like this one will run as it is, not if it is backfiring. I could tell you how to measure the ignition timing but would get a virtual glaze of the eyes and send everyone to bed early!
