  1. We have loads of tall, spindly trees in our garden - mainly oak, ash and cherry. I felled quite a few when we first moved in several years ago but have noticed that the remaining ones have really started to impact on sunlight in our garden and house this year. Wondering what to do with them. A few pictures attached of the main ones blocking the sun in the late afternoon/evening. Many of them are around 30m tall. Ideally, I'd like to significantly reduce the height of them (maybe by half) but I've no idea what would happen to them - would they forever look like telegraph poles or would they gradually grow a new canopy at the new height? Or do I fell a few more of them and thin out the canopy of the remaining ones? Any advice/ideas much appreciated.
  2. Thanks for the advice - a quarter turn was all that was needed, running lovely again now. Will hopefully see me through another year or so.
  3. That's the one. Yes in hindsight, I would of been better off buying a decent second hand one. Having said that, it has done a lot of work for me over the last 2 years, lasted longer than I thought it would.
  4. Thanks very much for the replies. I'll take a look at those ideas. I'm ashamed to say it is a cheap Chinese import off eBay - make is Actecmax. ?
  5. Hi Having trouble with my saw - used it for a couple of years but lately it is taking many attempts to start. Then when I get it going, I can say cut one branch and then when I take my finger off the throttle, it cuts out, it doesn't idle over. Then I repeat the whole process. What could be causing this? My initial thought is maybe some kind of fuel blockage. I'm a bit of a novice so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
