  1. Nice make some cheese boards and sell local.
  2. Done some research and Sudocrem for babies has various in it to prevent biting insects and cheap. So horse looks like a Zebra now with Yellow and NO itching for 24hrs. The vet has checked and is writing a letter as people would have know and hidden issue.
  3. Thanks for comments. Problem is I need to work the animal in woods to earn and so putting in a stable is unviable. Tried to return horse and refund but people abusive and Police said cannot make more contact. Vet due in morning to check on keeping/humane dispatch. Otherwise horse ideal. Miggie blanket works well am told but very expensive but don't know can work on under harness.
  4. Hello. Worked horses a long time in the woods and never problems with them and SSRD but purchased some recent Shire replacements. Before the sale had seen one was itching often on mane and tail (wormed and no lice) so checked if Sweet Itch and told no. Lies. :001_rolleyes: Now big issue with damage and cannot use harness!! Ideas on a product which works to stop miggies biting.
  5. Thanks. There is a fresh aged 1 around 18 hands. (Oh Er) and a basic broken rising 4 so will be starting light thinning again. Shipping firm won't take dogs and horses on same sea route so instead going from Immingham now looks like via Dover and 1261 miles drive. So selling on Arbtrader the 914 AK-31 / Bulkrite livestock box / Mesa trailer. Ideal all weathers 4x4 vehicle which runs on red to move work horses between Forestry sites.
  6. Just purchased a couple of replacement Shire/Clydesdale horses having lost Odin in his sleep aged 23 (Human 90) around Christmas time. Good solid traditional shape unlike some of the rubbish being sold to people as "working horses" Pictures to follow. Great interesting post!!
  7. Thanks for the pictures and update. Noticed using a plastic bucket to unload. Do you leave kiln to cool down before opening? Then check charcoal before bagging? We know someone who bagged straight from Circle kiln then drove off with product on truck which refired down the road!!
  8. Update and some pictures please.
  9. Elderflower works on flies (horses often rest under the bushes) Miggies we used a Birch based product looks like shoe polish. New research said Garlic no good in horses?
  10. Take some warm clothing as could be -30C. I know someone from Hedmark who works Oslo area but employees are from Eastern Europe due to wages. Mike Hill is in Bergen?
  11. So having burnt hundreds of sacks then complain! Think the campers need a lesson in fire lighting.
  12. Local sawmill using Scottish trees instead of imported panels.
  13. Still warm 24.4C with a cooling breeze.
  14. Shocked to read this! RIP.
  15. There is a UK based firm testing at present and looking into production soon which will remove the import costs. We have samples and saws run well.
  16. Good idea but long overdue. We had the first batch of Aspen into the via Mr Pilch at Plantoil moons ago and asked the FCA APF AA....... to all help with this illegal fuel tax on chainsaw - brushcutters fuel but a total lack of response from those organisations!! When motor manual felling is a large cost of a business that was a shame. There are several people that produce this type of fuel now so how competition on the price to end users.
  17. With 100% cost funding all would have one. I think Rivers 90 has a valid point the manufacturers don't see as I think most are going to Wildlife Trusts. We bagged into paper potato bags and even with good local markets payback will be a long time. I remember a long time ago a business advisor said don't invest in business tools unless can payback cost within 12 months. Can we have some working pictures? Thanks.
  18. How bad are the internal buckles in steelwork? Does it produce consistent loads of charcoal from all species?
  19. Interesting post!! Expensive compared to standard kilns £600 and I would be interested in lifespan as would have to work it hard to cover payback. Do the internals buckle and what's the insulation material. What do you unload into to allow cooling before bagging?
  20. VW's are not cheap but good mpg and can do serious mileage. Alternative is the new Fiat Panda 4x4 diesel
  21. VW Caddy 4 Motion
  22. http://www.britishcycling.org then check Third Party Liability Insurance in the search box. Been available 40 years and should be law. I ride often and am disgusted with the poor attitude of some people running red lights, using pavements, no helmets and dark suicide clothing and often riding two abreast on narrow rural roads. In addition a licence plate would help to stop bikes being stolen.
  23. Surprised Trading Standards are not on to this as misleading.
  24. Like Norway. In and Out best of both worlds?
