  1. Interesting truck conversion and good crane choice. Did you have to use an engineer's report to insure it after the chassis changes? (Not standard vehicle) I would given the choice always go for an all wheel drive vehicle if available due to work conditions like the electric board one in this picture. We have moved loads of wood over the years and I would suggest the front bulkhead needs a serious upgrade to prevent it breaking off and into the back of the cabin with the oversize lumps on board. The metal framework has some very twisted sections. "better safe than sorry"
  2. Update as promised:- The next bulk batch arrived this morning and the paid orders have been posted this afternoon. PLEASE CHECK YOUR E-MAIL BOX FOR THE "TRACK AND TRACE" INFO. Some might have gone into people's Junk/Spam box so worth a look there also. If you are serious about keeping safe and want some shoe-tyre studs including beating the VAT rise having received the PDF/E-mail then DO CONTACT us as you WILL have to wait again if we run out. (You know who you are:001_smile:) Seasons Greetings to all.
  3. SelectaDNA Forensic Coding Looks interesting and useful to prevent thefts and trace items stolen.
  4. Looks like a stump grinder and leaf blower in the background as well as a sign written truck so might be OK?
  5. Moose/Elg and Iron Age Pork (Wild boar/Tamworth cross) washed down with Birch wine. Yum Yum.
  6. FC have pulled a load of woodlands that were on the market in the south of England. No idea the reasons but it is odd.
  7. Have a look at this!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MPRmOUxRMY]YouTube - Paignton Ice Skating for Cars - The Original[/ame] Unreal people.
  8. Yes the people on that site have much experience in numerous engines Petrol/Diesel and district heating of homes so worth sending them an E-mail. Have a look at Genom Sverige med ved i tanken as some useful info there and videos of equipment including a tractor used for organic food production in Sweden. Worth going on You Tube and looking at woodgas and woodgas vehicles.
  9. I hate log thieves. The classic one we had on a site beside a main road was a posh woman pull up in an expensive BMW and opened the boot and start loading up sawn logs. When I asked what she was doing the response was "Oh I did not realise you wanted them". A different time some lads on a Friday afternoon who worked for the local water company (signs on van) loaded up a large amount of wood from our work site and were seen by someone who knew us and the Police were called. The vehicle was impounded with its trailer and mini digger for 48hrs and a large release fee charged. We gave them a big bill for loss of wood and time which the Police gave then 24hrs to pay or be charged with theft. The firm who employed them sacked them for theft. Good result as wood vanishing has stopped at present so it must have been them often. Covert items on DEBEN.com | Home Hide in the wood with a auto paint ball gun to prove who and which vehicle was on site. There are some additional methods by I cannot post on an open forum for risk of being sued/informing possible log thieves. PM if you wish.
  10. I thought with fuel prices going up again and dark winter evenings that this website might interest those of you with decent supplies of logs/woodchips. Suomen Ekoautoilijat ry I do know one of the people on the site if you need more info in English.
  11. With the price of "red diesel" going up again I thought those of you with a decent supply of logs and woodchips might like a look at this interesting website. Suomen Ekoautoilijat ry Something to make in the workshop during winter evenings:thumbup:
  12. Where/When do you need a site and does it need a building?
  13. Well we have snow tyres on the diesel clio and on the truck with studs. In rural areas of Derbyshire and Telemark the roads are not ploughed until there is at least 3" of fresh snow if at all. Spreading salt which kills trees and damages the fresh water supplies is a waste of time as it freezes again when temps drop. Use some gravel instead if needed Good stash of food and drink and log fires during the Christmas time. No idea all the fuss and stress is about? Cross Country Ski trips with friends.
  14. The price needs to be reduced to compete with normal unleaded petrol. In Norway Aspen is tax free to use in the woods!! In Sweden tax reduced so still less than it is in the UK. Prices need to be aimed at professional users not the leisure weekend users. How much would it be a 200LTRS drum?
  15. I have used them several times with reasonable results. If unsure contact a local Agricultural place to install the coil.
  16. All Land Rovers leak:laugh1: Well the Serious 2A and 101GS did.
  17. Telemark is very bug free compared to some areas. Now you know the reason I always have heated handles on saws being cold there but at least not rain and more rain. The main problem in deep snow is clearing around the base then minding the snow drop from the tree as it falls and finding the saw when it has vanished in a drift:001_rolleyes:
  18. There was a swedish firm that produced a small product which goes onto the valve and when moved lets all the air out within metres. I have them on but cannot find if the firm is still around.
  19. I have been through before this so know how much it makes people want to find the person and feed them into the machine. I agree it takes too much time to lock/unlock work sites each time. Police should be checking places instead of looking after drunks in town centres. Insurance never paid out for loss of income and all the hassle involved. People in prison should be forced to work and pay for the costs to keep them there.
  20. Hello Rob, We normally have stock all the time (12 months) of the HM11/HM15/HM30 as these can be used in foresty work for traction on slippery ground such as stumps/decking/moss covered concrete/fishing/hunting. This season with compacted snow/ice everywhere early it went bonkers with orders for the 11's/15's. I can do special orders for people that come in the normal post but this would need to be a reasonable size order. We purchase in a pallet load from Sweden to enable stock here. All questions welcome. We had on test a set of 24 HM11's for 12 months before bringing them into the UK and Ireland. No sign of wear to date on the studs but the boot tread is wearing down:001_rolleyes: For extreme conditions one can use 33 a pair of shoes/wellies/boots which is the reason for a 50 pack.
  21. We will send you a load of snow this evening and again in the morning. Sparks/Kicksleds are ideal in this weather.
  22. There are several hand versions available for small netting sacks in Oregon/Norway/Sweden. Google
  23. Update as promised:- Thanks for the interest!! The next bulk batch will/should be here on Saturday/Monday depending on the truck. (Wish the haulage firm would use tyre studs some to avoid problems) The rate the orders are in at the moment (such as people purchasing 2000 HM11's at once to use in Northern Ireland) if you are serious and want some having received the PDF/E-mail then DO CONTACT me as you might have to wait again if we run out. (You know who you are:001_smile:) Has anyone tried to purchase snow tyres at present:thumbdown: The Maxi Grip is produced all the time.
  24. Do you have own chainsaws and snow clothing? Have you experience of working at -20C?
  25. Fuelwood?
