  1. If you are going between places of work no problem provided it is for Agricultural/ForestryHorticultural purposes. Reasons unknown are Tree Surgery is not an allowed use unless for roadside works such as on Hawthorn hedges. If you have a woodland/are purchasing wood lengths which you in person are felling and wish to move products back to a place of sale like farmers do with potatoes and hay this is also ok. I have looked into this and the NFU/FCA have also. Haulage of someone elses products is not.
  2. Should mention that all the national press info about all woods being clearfelled is nonsence and misleading the public. I have noticed numerous high profile people jumping on the "we hate all foresters" bandwagon. The few small sections of woods we have cleared felled were already storm damaged and a nightmare to remove. Private woods works well in Sweden and Norway so should here.
  3. I did not know that Statoil produced a product and yes this fuel is a green as Aspen and has been produced for some time but should cost much less if the figures given on the E-mail are correct. (Looking at shipping costs)
  4. FC have been selling of woods in a covert fashion for a long time. (Public Unaware) I think if it allows people like me who run small sustainable woodland business to purchase a 200 acres mixed wood then it's a fine idea however the latest news is no sale now and lease them instead to certain charities which mean more woods being wasted while carbon taxes are sold. 20% of UK woods are managed and 80% wood products imported.
  5. I have found a new source in the EU that produces legal approved green fuels and oils to use in chainsaws..... Should have the trade bulk prices on Monday morning if not before. I have tried a sample this week and am impressed. Shall we all place a large bulk order depending on prices? I intend to have 4 x 200LTS drums and could share more if needed. I will post prices here.
  6. I have a contact in NSW who is using a 4x4 truck with a line clearance contract so will see if he has info.
  7. Back in for lunch and noticed this for someone. Source Derbyshire - local government tenders for Derbyshire business - PublicContract If you need a site in the Matlock area of the Derbyshire Dales for leaving arisings such as woodchips and timber then give me a PM.
  8. Some interesting comments on this link. Former Lib Dem planning spokesman 'advises gypsies on running illegal camps' - Telegraph
  9. It is a Norwegian Lavvo Telt "Living Tipi" we use for demos and when working on sites with bad weather. Would not like to live full time in one as a nomad although had considered going on a world travel in an overland truck to find somewhere else nice to place roots down following all the stress from the damage and hassle caused at the business site in Derbyshire by some of the "Walking People". (We have the names and know who it is as do the Police and it has now stopped) I know have somewhere suitable miles up in the mountains with nice fixed locals.
  10. Should we reduce the size of pictures to go onto the forum? High rez pixels.
  11. "Travel" means travel not fixed place of abode. The real gypsies I have known agree. There is a rude name that came from Irish Navies waiting for work at entrances to turnpikes I do not wish to state. I have no issues with all people having alternative lifestyles provided it is within the law and it does not hassle mainstream people's life and income.
  12. I am still waiting for the bulk prices on the drums. PLEASE. Would not need extra distribution people if the prices were discounted. How much for 1 x 200ltrs drum and 4 drums. Thanks
  13. There are some on Fleabid
  14. Call the local FC office.
  15. Dictionary Info:- Gypsy/Traveller:- a person who lives in caravans and wonders for place to place. Hermit:- a person who lives alone and keeps away from people. Hippie:- a young person who joins with others to live in an unconventional way. So someone who purchased a field and over a weekend then illegally puts in services and brick walls and a concrete building cannot claim to be traditional traveller. There a a million empty homes in the UK that people can purchase and make a decent home. Regarding living in caravans on private land the ONLY time this legal is foe a season and for Agricultural/Forestry/Horticultural purposes. Longer than this need council planning permission. I have a book on all of this as we tried to build a woodland workers build the legal direction.
  16. I have had numerous troubles including serious thefts and damage with the business we ran in Derbyshire from some Irish Gypsies (I have all the Police paperwork to prove this!!) however like all walks of life there are some good and some bad. In Derbyshire there are two original types we know that produce nice ropes and pegs that do no harm at all compared to the modern "Transit Pickup" ones who move onto public areas and steal/dump rubbish including tree waste and poo all over the local woods:001_rolleyes: The last time it cost tax rates a large amount to clean up:thumbdown: These are the main reasons that normal society does not accept them. I lived in caravans whilst working on farms as a teen and have no idea who would wish to live full time in a white plastic horrible caravan:001_huh:
  17. So long as you do not inhale the fumes. Same with burning on bonfires in woods.
  18. I have known people to turn the alarm traps sidewoods with a live shotgun item inside. Oh Er.
  19. The main problems are long term exposure to certain plants. Ragwort is classed as a dangerous weed by DEFRA and people have been fined for non removal from fields. It is illegal to make bales and sell with this inside and people have claimed for loss of livestock. It takes around 1KG to cause damage/death in large animals. It also causes liver damage in humans that pick the plants without gloves and masks. (Fact) One plant produces over 10,000 seeds that will spread over several miles and remain there until the soil is broken. Some farmers use sheep to graze the land to remove the green plant but the poison is then in the meat for us to consume and the next season the stems come back worse. Apples and carrots it is then.
  20. Some of those are also dangerous to people!!
  21. A call to HMRC should confirm rates due. If between EU countires I think is free still but Norway is an odd one in some product cases.
  22. Sensible suggestions please. I noticed in this area window/patio cleaning, tarmac of drives, double glazing in addition to tree works.
  23. Spelling mistake should have said INVENT:001_rolleyes:
  24. Yes. There is a long list of plants that are poisonous to livestock including horses. Some are harmfull when fresh and some when dead.
  25. Ideal for Hawthorn now someone needs to invert an item which collects the waste behind and chips/bales up at the same time.
