  1. See the link:thumbup1: Hope this avoids the confusion:001_smile: The Forestry Journal October 2010 GOOD NEWS
  2. SORRY NO, Arthur Cundey and his two sisters ran "Cundeys" well before selling the site to a Vets as the same time selling the "Production Rights" to Technorton. The office was old fashioned and run without PC's. The firm also produce a cable extraction for the FC a very long time ago. Nice people to do business with. I called Technorton and was told it had closed due to recession and had sold out to a firm who produced flail hedge machines. I called this firm and it was not producing at present which was a shame.
  3. Time to leave home and find a nice understanding female friend/wife and a home with a wood stove with a rack above where you both can dry work/horse riding clothing. We can go to the moon but no one to date makes full waterproof chainsaw trousers!!
  4. Fine views! Parachute down would be fun.
  5. I have always wanted to go but lack of time. Should make the effort this time as heard it's a very good show. (Sounds like a lavvo telt in the woods then)
  6. Let the tyre pressures down and lift the woodchipper up high on the linkage to avoid being a plough. Should drive out then with diff locks on.
  7. Beavers. JOKE.
  8. Numerous councils are looking at methods of making more funds. (Word of mouth and business image are more effective)
  9. If you can swim well and like the agressive Eastern Brown snakes. I have some friends working there in New South Wales and Queensland. The traditional homes were on wooden stilts to avoid floods unlike the modern brick houses.
  10. Is there no a telephone number on the side of the machine the Police could call? So the local Police are taking woodchippers with a crane now. Pleased it has worked out for you!!
  11. The NFU said certain "Agricultural" type vehicles like the Unimog/Fastrac and a couple of additional rare makes that were designed with a load bed for Agricultural/forestry use can carry legally loads. The insurance document I have allows that provided it is a load belonging to me. Distance is legally between sections of land worked by the person who owns the vehicle and the product. The time you should not use it for considered "haulage" is when doing Tree Surgery work unless roadside. (Not private gardens)
  12. Well done to "Edenarb" on the win in the raffle. The HM11's are being posted this afternoon in time for all the black ice up there.
  13. Well if you see some of the places we have worked with trained horses over the years you would be very surprised. No machine access and like a sledge slope:001_rolleyes: Pole length Larch trees with 18" base where a machine had sunk. Fresh Oak with 24" base and in 18' lengths. I used to have a small U600 with an Igland winch with 400m of cable but found horses were more reliable/useful on the terrain types we work on and you cannot share lunch with a tractor.
  14. Watered down so not too visible.
  15. I have friends in the Manchester/Oldham areas so have forwarded the picture you posted. Hope you find the vehicle and the scum who stole it!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. A well trained horse with Spikes/Heels n Toes shoes would do the work. Tree lengths extraction and voice control.
  17. A friend who works in an office has been bought a new "leisure" model Husqvarna by Santa's wife to saw up firewood on a wooden bench at home. I know from a safe/sense viewpoint he should be wearing basic chainsaw clothing but where does the law stand on this as a novice/leisure person. I asked if he had a helmet with ear/eye protection and the response was I am not doing it for a living. He does not even own steel capped work boots!
  18. I am now using this on some work items including chainsaws as the kit costs around £14. Simple to use and can also be installed on Cameras/Mobiles/PC's. Comes with stickers for windows/equipment/buildings to discourage thieves.
  19. Price please for bulk drums:thumbup1:
  20. Interesting truck conversion and good crane choice. Did you have to use an engineer's report to insure it after the chassis changes? (Not standard vehicle) I would given the choice always go for an all wheel drive vehicle if available due to work conditions like the electric board one in this picture. We have moved loads of wood over the years and I would suggest the front bulkhead needs a serious upgrade to prevent it breaking off and into the back of the cabin with the oversize lumps on board. The metal framework has some very twisted sections. "better safe than sorry"
  21. Update as promised:- The next bulk batch arrived this morning and the paid orders have been posted this afternoon. PLEASE CHECK YOUR E-MAIL BOX FOR THE "TRACK AND TRACE" INFO. Some might have gone into people's Junk/Spam box so worth a look there also. If you are serious about keeping safe and want some shoe-tyre studs including beating the VAT rise having received the PDF/E-mail then DO CONTACT us as you WILL have to wait again if we run out. (You know who you are:001_smile:) Seasons Greetings to all.
  22. SelectaDNA Forensic Coding Looks interesting and useful to prevent thefts and trace items stolen.
  23. Looks like a stump grinder and leaf blower in the background as well as a sign written truck so might be OK?
