  1. if its an ex utilities mini digger i would avoid them like the plague i have seen diggers absolutely knackered within 1000 hrs but i have seen mining excavators with 90000 hours on them and still going it depends on the jockey in the seat and the folk repairing it when it breaks down i would suggest if you are looking at second hand take an unbiased independent engineer with you to carry out a proper inspection we can pick up on stuff that you wouldn't even think is possible
  2. i never usually bother disconnect the remote control unit or sensitive electronics if you are concerned

  5. ditto thats whats on ours and its lasted pretty well you should be able to get a large off cut for beer tokens as there is usually loads in the quarries thats half worn or demolition companies as well

  10. we've got 3 chinese engines at 16hp we have had no problems with them no brainer in my opinion 1/3 cost for more power if you are that concerned about reliability buy 2

  13. you can get mek from boat chandlers they use for priming ribs for repairs its quite expensive
  14. got the email yesterday from them looked about as clear as mud what are slf suppliers going to get charged
  15. slate is pretty inert to anything my hearth came from a chemical lab and had rings from the acid beakers that were sat on it they came out with a belt sander shot blasting is pretty aggressive so i wouldn't do that i would go straight for the nitromors if it was me

  18. it aint that easy to change the gearing on a final drive to a different ratio also be very cautious about increasing the flow from a swash pump this seriously reduces their lifespan best to leave alone
  19. could the reverse solenoid be rigged up in parallel with the starer so that it helps with this problem?
  20. nah plumber turn up with a 10'' shifter and a flat blade screwdriver
  21. petrol or diesel are the blades sharp belts tight rpm reading correct etc
  22. our chipper was recored last year i think i payed 160 ish
  23. we have 4 pairs of 700 with 2 sets straight in the lead and 2 pairs left and right set back 10mm it works well in stoney ground this is on a machine with 16hp
