  1. these grabs are usually pretty low quality with no bushes in the moving parts the grease nipples usually need a shroud welded round about them to stop them gettin knocked off and they fracture where the tynes are welded onto the tube also the backstay tryes to punch its way thru the back wall and they cause stresses on the dipper as it tries to bend the dipper to get a decent grip off anything

  3. i think i have found the problem the wiring on the coils has loose terminations on the ends so i gave them a squeeze to tighten them up tried it and it seems to be better i will need to try it under load to make sure
  4. popped the flywheel off it aint the flywheel key is there any measurements that i can check with my meter to see if its the coil or the module
  5. i have an old 281 that backfires and loses power i have changed the fuel filter and the plug cleaned the carb out still does im thinking its now ignition related any pointers cheers

  10. clutch sounds like its on its way out. the dust from the clutch chokes the helix jamming it up and it wont engage
  11. yeh they still make them good engine they are about 1050hp if i am right the ktta50 had two sets of staged turbos and were about 1500hp the kta38 are 12 cyl version of the series
  12. penny wise pound foolish .go for a good quality mineral 15w40 we have had cummins kta38 engines on test on some fancy new oil it was a total ####up cost a fortune already had 2 engine failures at £40k each. buy decent filters as well and change them regular you should go far wrong doin that
  13. the last company i worked with had a fleet off about 12 metal shears on excavators so i had a go at cutting fire extinguishers i still havent found both parts of the fire extinguishers yet. dangerous and impressive at the same time:biggrin:
  14. they cant take them to the scrappies because they are a sealed container its the same as fire extinguishers the scrappies wont touch em cause they go bang when you process them
  15. check the resistance of the solenoid for the feed and the wiring going to it sounds like somethings goin straight to earth
  16. you would have to have a changeover valve on the tank return as well to avoid cross contamination and still have a method off when you were on the change over to white letting the fuel system run clear off red

  18. save yourself the hassle i work day in day out with hydraulics on excavators and other assorted plant and ended up buying one from a place in newcastle for £900 i couldnt source the parts and build it for that price
  19. it would need to be a very large ie expensive accumulator to work a rotary motor is the auxiliary double acting or just a single feed and return

  21. haha i got sent to a loading shovel that the driver had rigged out with a cb by the time i got near the site the fire brigade passed me to extinguish the burning wreck
