  2. hardox is the stuff you are looking for normal mild steel wont hold an edge very well forlong

  18. yep well and truly fixed now turned out it was nothing to do with husky or dealer. we were working in the back garden of a house cutting up a pine because the garden was enclosed i switched the saw off cause of the noise it had fell over on its side and the exhaust scooped up a gob full of sand when i picked it upto start it the dirt must have fell into the barrel and flattened the ring land on one side off the piston.new piston fitted cleaned out all the crap no marks in the barrel lucky man dealer was spot on it had everybody scratchin there heads how the dirt got in:thumbup:
  19. these grabs are usually pretty low quality with no bushes in the moving parts the grease nipples usually need a shroud welded round about them to stop them gettin knocked off and they fracture where the tynes are welded onto the tube also the backstay tryes to punch its way thru the back wall and they cause stresses on the dipper as it tries to bend the dipper to get a decent grip off anything
  20. whats the resistance of the coils
  21. i think i have found the problem the wiring on the coils has loose terminations on the ends so i gave them a squeeze to tighten them up tried it and it seems to be better i will need to try it under load to make sure
  22. popped the flywheel off it aint the flywheel key is there any measurements that i can check with my meter to see if its the coil or the module
  23. i have an old 281 that backfires and loses power i have changed the fuel filter and the plug cleaned the carb out still does im thinking its now ignition related any pointers cheers
  24. can anyone point me in the direction of a wiring diagram cheers
