  1. i would not use threaded bar for anything that requires any amount of strain as it has similar strenght qualities as toffee for nuts and bolts in small quantities try cat as there fasteners are excellent quality
  2. just fitted 8 tooth sprocket on my 365 but only for my 15" bar transforms a good saw into an even better one:thumbup:for my20" and 24" bars 7 tooth dead easy to change the cog
  3. you could possibly use a diamond tip stone dresser i think you can get them from machine mart or cromwell tools
  4. filters are usually on the return from any valves and usually have a bypass built into them
  5. i am a heavy plant fitter and i use halfords stuff pretty much every day it is definatley less quality than the likes of bahco,facom etc i still breakthem on the odd occasion but the stuff that gets heavy usage gets replaced with something better the ratchet spanners are better to use than the snapon ones because the ratchet heads are smaller

  7. check the breather also as most hydraulic excavators usually pressurise the hyd tank to stop cavitation and have a look at the intake hose get somebody to operate it and check its not sucking itself flat or check that theyre are no flaps of rubber coming of the suction hose is it a gear type pump on these with an open centre valveblock and also are they hydrostatic drive its a few years since i have worked on these ps is it a skid steer or an excavator:thumbup:

  12. you should be able to get the spark plug from almost anywhere that sells garden machinery or car parts why dont you clean the air filter they are usually reusable

  17. i am very confident it wont cause any problems as it would melt the electrode of the spark plug rather than the flush fitting valve also the barrel is made of aluminium which conducts heat very well i wont worry about this at all are you sure that yuor problems werent caused by it running too lean if it does cause any problems i can machine a plug to fit into it hey presto back to normal:thumbup:

  19. the thread is m10x1.0 and the top of the barrel was milled down to 8mm thick
  20. 81 cc i believe. i bought it from a bloke in st andrews he bought 250 of them at an army auction and has gradually been selling them off theyre was a mixture of 181&281 huskys
  21. been snowed off all week so i decided to fit a decompression valve aid starting as it has a fair bit of compression i have never had a barrel off a saw before but they are quite easy to strip down
  22. remember to check pressures reqd for operation as flow=speed+ pressure=power
  23. i bought an ex army 281xp will this be big enough to power a mill
  24. get a steady hand its cheaper:thumbup:
  25. stinky gear oil for me and i havent noticed any difference:thumbup:
