  1. OK I've put fresh fuel in. I'll change the spark plug and air filter - anyone know a good place to get these things?
  2. Hi I've got a Makita DCS3410TH that I bought in France three years ago. It's been sat idle in the garage for eighteen months, and won't start now. Not being a mechanic I'm scrabbling around for info to try and avoid having to pay someone to change a widget and get it back up and running. What are the things I should check out? Something dried out.......?
  3. Anyone know where I can get a new air filter for my DCS3410TH?
  4. It is more a case of having some big logs to dissect and that a longer bar would make that job easier. Am I right in thinking that?
  5. Hi Guys I have a Makita TH 3410 with a 12 inch bar on it. My questions are: 1. What would be the maximum length bar I could put on it? 2. What's the best sort of chain to get? (it needs replacing) Thanks El Marmot
  6. OK thanks that's an idea as well.
  7. There, I knew it was a good idea to ask the question here. Of COURSE I wasn't going to drag them out with a tirfor how dumb would that be? I can just picture my wife's face... As it happens there are some very friendly farmers nearby who I'm sure would help. So, I just need a BIG chain........ Thanks guys
  8. Hi I'm not a tree expert, so I've come here to the home of the experts I have several mature (2ft diameter) oak trees which were felled two years ago and left on the land. I intend to: cut them into 4m lengths drag them to the roadside (about 50m) take them to the local sawmill for planking It's in France, but don't suppose that makes any difference. I've got a small but decent chainsaw, and need to buy a tirfor I think. Any advice from you guys?
