  1. Contact treelife, they run courses all over and offer distance learning. Never heard a bad word said about them... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Ok, got the Ransomes Mountfield Laser with Tecumseh engine for £30. Not to bad, needed oil topping up and a sharpen, but that's sorted. Other issue is the spark plug cap is missing the spring band, so wiggled on and off in use - can I just get a replacement? More annoying is I snapped the throttle lever off the handle by hitting the fence! Where's best to get a replacement for it? Cheers in advance. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Friday evening bump in case anyone missed it... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. According to my insect book it fits the bill for goat moth larvae. Most often seen around July wandering away from its food supply to spin a cocoon on the ground, after spending up to four years feeding in the tree. The moths don't feed, relying on stored energy, and live for up to one month. Good find... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Hi all, a friend of my wifes is a young successful entrepreneur from Earls Colne with spleniclymphoma, a type of incurable cancer, and he is self publishing a novel to fundraise. Some of you may have heard him recently on Essex FM or seen him in the local press. The novel is available here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1495975606/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/278-5645400-2041232 if you are interested in a slightly odd, dark novel set in a small village in Essex, which happens to raise money for a good cause. If anyone is interested he also has a popular blog following his life since the diagnosis: spleniclymphoma | Living with It Thanks for reading, Kev

  17. Not sure where I heard it (may have been a dream!) but I have a vague memory of someone daubing natural yoghurt over painted trees to encourage a covering of algae, lichen etc. A search of the archives reveals nothing so I don't know if someone did it, how it turned out, was planning on it, or if you heard it here first...
