  1. Aspen with the X27 - so easy it was a pleasure!
  2. Old thread here for ya! http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/maintenance-help/3061-jensen-528t-blade-bolt-torque.html
  3. Had three for tennis elbow - each gave about 3 months relief. Bloody painful injection! Changed the job I was doing (fork truck driver) and my osteopath/alternative therapist did a lot of muscle and joint manipulation and it's been pretty good for over 14 years now so long as I vary the work i do
  4. Had a 160 for a few years - apparently no two were the same from the factory so buying spares was a total minefield. The part numbers never seemed to match the diagram in the manual. It caught fire right at the end of a job, and I replaced it with a Jensen 530 - best move I ever made I think! I may even still have an original manual lurking somewhere for the Chipmaster if anyone wants it?
  5. Seems to be quite common to produce check codes for insurance annually. I have to send a copy of licence and code every year to Stavely Head Insurance. When I asked why they didn't just keep a copy of my licence (been with them over 10 years), they said they can't because of data protection or some such guff. I just call it laziness!
  6. Had a keyhole triple in 2005, 3 months off, keyhole double 2014, 6 weeks off, full cut open single 2015, 2 weeks off and climbing again after 6 weeks Best of luckwith your op mate!
  7. Never leave anything of value in van overnight - even if insured, just not worth the risk, next days work ruined etc. Neighbour had his van done a few nights ago - only a Makita drill gone, but a busted lock to boot. They probably checked mine out too, but it's always empty.
  8. Had problems with mine misfiring on supermarket fuel, but that was right from cold. Using BP or Shell now and it's fine. As it's when the hole gets deeper it possibly points to engine oil level - I think it's designed to cut out before the engine runs dry as the angle changes. Service agent topped mine right up to the top with engine oil and advised the level should be right up to the top of the filler hole. The fuel filler cap is a known weak point on these - got a Honda one fitted now. Hope these checks might help you!
  9. Have a look on Wood chippers for sale Good company to deal with and ever changing stock. Plus Vat though
  10. I've had a couple of near misses also in Thailand, when dead fronds came down during the monsoon - surprising amount of weight in these which could do some serious injury!
  11. Local known company, house dwellers, with sign written van started some connies last year - got sacked off halfway through by by the lady owner because they were appallingly cut. Also they'd been sending out ghost (repeat) invoices to elderly neighbours who have paid twice, with fake VAT on top. I was asked to put the trees right. I said give them at least 6 months to recover - now I have a job for life as they're starting to look half decent after just one proper cut. Got her rental property garden sorted out too, so it's a win win for me
  12. Same problem here too with the 360. I've also had a throttle cable, two brake cables gone now at under 150 hours. The brake system is seriously flawed on these. Arbrep have been very good at getting parts out to me, but deny there's a problem - I've heard of enough to know that a redesign is needed. The Kohler engine also won't run on supermarket fuel - fair enough, easy to cure this. But it's also had a new exhaust as the first one shook itself to bits, a new carb under warranty (known weak point) and a new Honda petrol cap last week. When it's running it's a cracking machine, but I've lost a few days work with these probs. Will be looking at an HB20 as a replacement possibly.
  13. Lovely craftsmanship there! Need to at least take a 50% deposit before work commences so you're at least covered for some of your time. Also get it all in writing, signed etc before starting a project for someone

    New Tipper

pair of new mirrors just replaced on new Daily - an eyewatering £480 for parts alone! Cracking to drive though
  15. We had a load nearby recently - Chelmsford Channels travellers: First look inside illegal camp that shut £1,100-a-year golf course | Essex Live What the article didn't mention was that they had been s*****ng all over the greens as well - dirty scum bags. They have toilets in their caravans but seem to think it's ok to do this? Same on a local industrial estate as well - mate works there and when his boss asked him to clean up land next to his firm after they had left he refused - toilet paper and mess all over the place
  16. Super Accel 210, can't get on with the Natanoko. Will try a Gomboy and a Zubat next

I've reported both items to ebay - bet they don't get taken down though. I've also asked one seller where he is exactly as I can't find his town on Streetmap. Said I wanted to pay cash on collection - will be interested to see what excuses I get, if any reply at all

If you check where the sellers are located - neither of them exist! The same for genuine saws at half the normal price - they don't exist
  19. Just a simple Excel spreadsheet will get you going to start with (30 odd years in and it's still all I use for 2 businesses) - just update it as regularly as you can. I plan on doing it every time I turn on the pc but that always falls by the wayside! Keep your receipts in order - not covered in mud on the floor of the truck as this makes for hard work. If your accountant is any good, he will advise you on what you can and can't claim for etc, and any additional records he may want
  20. Echo CS310ES on a 12" or 14" bar - cracking little saw and £166 from Radmore and Tucker - fast delivery too
  21. X27 here. the Stihl is cheaper at FR Jones - £45.05 incl VAT And hydraulic splitter for the nastier stuff or when I'm feeling lazy!
  22. Echo 360 TES and a 150 for smaller stuff
  23. The work will would still have been there tomorrow waiting to be done - the wedding is gone, never to be repeated. I'm as guilty as the next man with working too much - but sometimes you've just gotta take that time out!
  24. Bumpity bump - willing to contribute some beer tokens of course!
  25. Have a couple of loads of chip coming in Clacton on Sea next week and at least one full load of leylandii logs - can anyone help with a local tipsite please?
