  1. Tree of heaven or staghorn sumac? Only ever dealt with the latter- lots of grubbing out with a mattock and ecoplugs in main stump. Repeat as necessary
  2. Morning all - Connie bashing this morning. Rained a lot last night so they’ll be holding water all day so gonna get soaked ☹️
  3. As Steve says - never seen one anywhere! plenty of hollow poplar, apple, willow etc
  4. Lleylandi burns beautifully and clean when properly seasoned 👍
  5. Well as a landlord I’ll take exception to your comments. I rent to a variety of tenants, from benefits claimants who will always be so, will never work either through disability or by being of unemployable types, through to short term contractors who go where the work is until they move on. one tenant has been with me for 18 years or so. Sometimes in work, occasionally on benefits. I strive to provide decent accommodation, carry out all repairs promptly and don’t put the rents up by extortionate amounts. I’ve had tenants who have wrecked places, stopped paying their rent, installed a cannabis farm, had asbos against them etc. Thankfully most are decent people who look after the properties at least to a fair degree. So to tar all landlords as arseholes would be as unfair as to say that all tenants are bad.
  6. So on what do you base your opinion that landlords are all arseholes?
  7. This 👍 I use stihl battery blower with several batteries most days but for big clearance the Echo PB8010 comes out to play - never fails to put a smile on my face 😁
  8. Same - just let them float to the surface and fish them out at the end. Was going to try stoning them next year. end result - 19 jars of lovely sweet toast topping for breakfast 👍
  9. Electric chainsaw will really struggle - the trunks are very fibrous and it will jam up multiple times - even a more powerful petrol saw will jam but has more chance of powering through. Maybe better to find someone local and experienced to drop it for you. If you do the disposal it’ll probably cost less than buying the saw. What’s your location?
  10. Just got three pans, 4.5kg of damsons on the stove this evening to make jam - one of my favourites 👍 the usually productive tree only had a dozen or so on it, and the later one had a reasonable amount. Should have done it last weekend as lost a few to being over ripe but we had a bbq here last weekend for 53 people so I was otherwise engaged (read that as f….ing rushed off my feet) 😂
  11. Only in women for me 😛 🍻I like dark, or Amber at least
  12. Brun or Ruby 👍
  13. Just up and eating - leisurely morning today 👍
  14. Plus one for this - has taken over from my ancient Hayter twenty one with 5hp b&s. Easier to start, more manoeuvrable and leaves a pretty good finish for a rough cut mower 👍
  15. On the 360 two of the teeth protrude a few millimetres further out, these are the leading teeth. Guessing on the bigger machines it’ll be half of the teeth? The pocket or carrier is where the teeth bolt into
  16. I have the 3/4 inch Teng Tools for the bolts on my 530 and same in 1/2 inch for everything else - easier than some others to read 👍
  17. I use them on the leading pockets on a 360 - they do cut more aggressively when new and are easier to sharpen than multitips. I order by phone rather than through the website as often after ordering on website they are out of stock.
  18. I used Midland Road Springs when I had to change the rears on a previous iveco daily. Got slightly heavier duty than originals. Were good value at the time - not looked recently though
  19. Used The London Saw Company for my last batch of sharpening - all good 👍
  20. He’s a dab hand at it 👍
  21. Everything has an owner so just taking any timber is regarded as theft. if you can find something that the owner wants clearing for free then you may be in luck 👍
  22. Got 70 a ton for light iron this week from EMR so really not worth the bother. Rolled Ali at 700 and household cable at 1770. Only really clear stuff for customers when asked and a couple of mates drop me some non ferrous occasionally. Keeps me ticking over when the weather isn’t conducive to working
  23. Pick and choose the ones you want and price per job. There’s always more waste than you think. We do anything from little half hour trims up to a couple of days - get them right and they can be good earners
  24. Got the x27 and 25 but prefer the 25 for most splitting. The 27 if it’s a bit knottier and then the Stihl Aluminium splitting wedge for nasty stuff
