  1. Don’t forget some chainsaw trousers at the very least, plus helmet with ear and face protection
  2. The flowers make a lovely sweet desert wine, and the berries a great, rich red. Years since I’ve done any of either though
  3. Ditto - not long been in from work, wet and cold so first fire of the season to take the chill off
  4. They should have cut the panel out to fit around the tree - did it many times back when I was fencing
  5. Me too - but been so warm here in Essex that I’m still out in a shirt in the evenings and wish I’d had shorts on for grass cutting today - was roasting!
  6. Ha ha! Mark’s one of the longest standing, respected arbs on this forum, and voted the funniest too 😂 think he’s pulling your chain 👍
  7. Similarly (kind of) my accountant wouldn’t allow osteopath sessions to repair injuries caused whilst climbing, which almost stopped me working altogether
  8. Thank you - will pass this on to my customer 👍
  9. As per title - good customer of mine will be going for planning on a small site, perhaps 1/3 acre with numerous trees on the boundary and needs a survey done. Anyone have any recommendations please?
  10. About 50% goes to local allotments and private gardens. Rest goes to a free tipsite where it’s then sold on for biomass. Real clean loads with no green in occasionally gets sold but mostly I just need an empty truck for the next job
  11. Similar on a new build at the back of me - tpo put on a spindly sycamore that the builders had rammed with their digger trying to uproot it. Had to wait 5 years after the development was finished before anything could be done to it. By then it had grown into a 45ft monstrosity in a tiny garden - five years and one week later they got us to remove 👍
  12. This! Got myself the Stihl BGA 86 and haven’t used the petrol handheld for nearly a year now. Still use the backpack Echo petrol for big clear ups though. only downside is it’s quite power hungry so you’ll want two AP300 batteries so ones on charge when ones in use
  13. I have exactly the same problem- pulled this link up and will give it a go next year How to control apple and plum maggots | Garden World WWW.GARDENWORLD.CO.UK How to control apple and plum maggots. Learn about how our products can help you. Search for...
  14. Following with interest as I’ve got similar coming up. Is it better to inform them then? First time I’ve dealt with work in a ca and I’ve got three to sort out this year
  15. Hi not really a question, but 5k plus the vat? They’re only 5394.00 including the vat new from Arbrep services so you’ll probably need to be below that inclusive to get a sale. Cracking machine though that will earn its money back in no time 👍
  16. Just to say thanks @Mark Bolam - job done and mate is very happy 👍
  17. Got quieter if anything - got some hedge trimming to price to try and fill august. Got a week booked in for each of September/October and November. Regulars coming back but new enquiries down by at least 50%
  18. Whatever course of action you take, get a camera installed to keep a check on him 👍
  19. Definitely need pictures - if the lean is not too severe it’s possible but really need to see it
  20. They’re just trying to get traffic to their badly written websites - Steve has already asked them to stop in another thread
  21. They’re just trying to get clicks to their badly written websites
  22. Got two damson trees, one very sparse crop and the other is heavily laden. Got everything ready for jam making in a week or so time when they’re ripe. Figs were lovely, only half what I got last year though so just eating them rather than making chutney. Red currants were excellent, Victoria plums all have a maggot inside so got to try and sort that next year. Plenty of Bramleys coming on and a few eaters too. Morello cherries were the sweetest we’ve ever had - normally sharp but this year could eat them straight off the tree 👍
