  1. Don’t know about the politics there, but most certainly there will be another huge wave of asylum seekers coming our way no matter what transpires ☹️
  2. Oh definitely- no problem at all. It’s just the occasional ones when there’s no one home, no access to sockets that it becomes a problem. Its happened enough times to me that I check at the quoting stage, along with making sure all dog mess will be picked up before we start 👍
  3. Assuming the customer has outside power point or is at home to access sockets. I carry 5 batteries and on occasion have used them all
  4. Basildon! Though everyone has a nearby town like this I guess 😂
  5. I thought exactly this, but then if rubbish is put in bins responsibly, anyone with a grudge, or for a laugh could take it out and fly tip it getting the buyer reported
  6. Any trees you could put a trail camera on? Get some footage then try and id?
  7. I was only subbing with my truck, chipper and tools but originally they were just to have a light prune, thin and take out any crossed branches. When we arrived the customer added reducing the height into the spec. Cost them a bit more which they were fine with. Got finished just as the heavens opened 😁
  8. Wouldn’t be without it - these skinny birch’s won’t take the weight of the climber so easy to go round them with Fiskars loppers 👍
  9. Nice easy Birch and apple pruning today, Beech hedge to trim yet. Lovely view from the driveway across the estuary as well 😁
  10. The FSI B22 is 14hp, same as Predator/Laski 360sw. From memory I believe Tycorrigan runs one of these. I have the Predator and it has earned its price many times over. I also have an HB20, about the same size as the 460 but it only gets used maybe 5% of the time. The self drive is very handy though.
  11. Morning all 👍 11 stumps this morning, 8 down, 3 to go but I got hungry so having last nights Chinese. Onto the leaner we postponed from Saturday after this - just got to get in on ground and ring up as customer will clear it all 😁
  12. Very late to the register! Was supposed to be taking down an ivy covered stem today that’s moved about 15 degrees and pushing a fence over. About 35ft I think. Far too wet and windy to be venturing out so hope it stays up till we can get there Monday afternoon. Had the fire on all day and been tidying/cleaning ready for Christmas. Probably more of the same tomorrow but I keep getting side tracked 👍
  13. I always describe a stump as like a spiders body - I go down a foot deep and out to the first knuckles and won’t normally chase any roots out. Unless specifically asked for and they’re shallow, ie. Cherry, horse chestnut etc and then it’s more £. deepest I’ve been was 3ft and about 8ft across - there are pics in the stumpgrinding thread a few years ago. Meet this fella on site, take your grinder with you and if necessary go deeper or just use it to show him that it’s just the odd bit of root left.
  14. Tried that - messages got blocked
  15. Tried this with a van recently - ended the listing twice so had to pay to relist. both “buyers” then ceased all contact - wankers 😡 Sold on Facebook sales in the end
  16. Unipower are very good to deal with👍
  17. Just looking at the reviews - very straight English names with poorly written reviews, very pidgin English so likely to be AI or compiled by non native speakers
  18. That’s not pollarded - it’s been butchered and he’s has come well past the boundary. He should also have cleared all the waste. At the risk of fostering a bad relationship with him I’d be looking for financial recompense to remove this and replace with a similar size, maybe a bit further in from the boundary
  19. Looks great fun 👍
  20. In Cyprus for a week at the moment, all inclusive. After two small glasses of local Keo lager, some barely palatable red wine, I have been to a lovely little local real ale bar for some proper beers👍🍺 Would rather pay to drink something I enjoy than drink what’s on offer in the hotel. The food however is superb 😁
  21. Is it a 2 stroke or a 4 mix engine? The latter are a fair bit quieter with a less piercing tone. I find the 2 stroke much more reliable to start - the two 4mix KM90s I have can be pigs to get going once hot
  22. I’d suspect they are chancers rather than genuine climbers! Depending on experience and complexity of jobs, where you are in the country etc, anywhere from 150 to 250/300 per day would be more representative.
  23. Love olives but not the anchovies
  24. Nippon or similar ant powder sprayed round the entrance in cool evening or very early morning. They drag it inside on their bodies and then it takes effect on the queen. Had to deal with 7 or 8 this year and used this on 3 of them. the foam only seems to work if applied directly to a hanging nest or in a roof space where you can see the entrance
  25. The newer style Stihl heads are very poor compared to the previous model. if using commercially then 3 in 5 years is about right unfortunately. I now run them till just out of warranty, sell whilst they are still in working order and will make a decent price. Put that towards a new one. rinse and repeat
